NYC Grand National Kickball Tournament Charity Information

As you may already know, New York will be hosting its second annual NYC Grand National Kickball Tournament on Saturday, August 14th, 2010. A philanthropic sporting event to support Literacy Partners (www.literacypartners.org), a not-for-profit organization providing free community-based adult and family literacy programs.

August is rapidly approaching and the fundraising committee is in the process of soliciting in-kind donations. Last year, much of our charitable contributions can be attributed to the money raised through generous donations of items that were raffled off and we are soliciting your support.

Are you associated with a company that may be able to contribute a raffle prize? Do you have an expensive, unused item lying around your place that you have been dying to hand off to a better good? Do you have a friend-of-a-friend that has an uncle that knows someone? In 2009, we had a very successful raffle event all due to people like you – and we’d like to do the same this year!

Still not feeling the urge to contribute to society? Let’s take a minute to think about what you are doing right this second. Reading. Yes – R-E-A-D-I-N-G. Reading. With a small effort from you, another human being could one day also enjoy reading an email as much as you are now.

No matter how big or small, we can find a way to make your contribution appealing to the young-and-fun 20/30 something’s that live for the sport of kickball. Be creative people! And, most importantly, keep in mind alcohol will be involved. We’re basically banking on a lack of judgment from generous, self-less participants such as you.

And now… back to being serious.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the charity.
