CIRCUIT EVENT DETAILS
Portland Kickball Open
June 9-10, 2017
NOTE: Women’s Event is on a FRIDAY
What Is A Circuit Event?
A Circuit Event is a weekend long Kickball Tournament hosted by Kickball365. Expectations of a Circuit Event include: Thursday Night Bar Crawl (select cities), Friday Meet and Greet, Saturday Coed Tournament, Saturday Night After Party, Sunday Women’s Tournament, and Sunday Night After Party. The series of ALL Circuit Events in a calendar year that lead up to Circuit Championship Weekend in November is known as The National Tour. NOTE: This Portland event will feature a Friday women’s event instead of Sunday with an estimated 1pm start time.
Friday Women’s Tournament: Fields Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex (soccer field #1), 15707 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR 97006
Saturday Coed Tournament: Rock Creek Powerlines Soccer Fields, 21159 NW Rock Creek Blvd, Portland, OR 97229
This tournament is open to ANY and ALL adult kickball teams with no previous qualifications necessary to participate. The Coed Division plays on Saturday and the Women’s Division plays on Sunday. Teams who compete in this event have a chance to qualify for Circuit Championship Weekend in November.
All Circuit Events utilize the Official Rulebook of Kickball365.
Kickball365 will award cash prizes to teams approximately one (1) week after the completion of this Circuit Event. The total amount will be based on the final number of teams participating.
After registration closes, each team in attendance will be assigned a tournament seed. Each seed will be based on a team’s averaged ranks (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd) in each of the individual ranking systems – ELO, FIFA®, and RPI – to generate their tournament ranking. New Teams without enough data to make such a determination will be seeded at the bottom to complete the seeding. From this initial seeding, each team will be put into a bin with similar seeded teams. The captains in the first bin will draw opponents from the second bin of teams into their pool. Then those second bin captains get to draw the third team in their pool from the next bin and so on until all pools have been finalized by captains. By contrast, the CIRCUIT SCORING SYSTEM (CSS), which awards points to registered Circuit Teams solely on their performance at Circuit Events, will be used to seed teams at the Circuit Championship Weekend.
You must be at least 21 years old (as of the posted event date) to participate in this tournament and the social events planned during the weekend. You must be in good health, have adequate health insurance, and be physically prepared to compete in this event.
All Captains, Players, and Non-Playing Coaches are required to register themselves online prior to the posted registration deadlines (at 1159pm EST/859pm PST). We do not accept offline payments of any kind and cannot manually add anyone to your team if they failed to register on time.
New Player Referral Program
If you have any friends, close contacts, co-workers, or anyone else who has never played in a Circuit Event before, they will receive FREE ENTRY to their first event. This program allows for up to two (2) players PER TEAM per tournament. Players must register using the code NEWKICKBALLER2017 at the time of registration. This option is available for one time use only, meaning a female playing in two (2) events in the same weekend can only use the code for one (1) of those events.
Each team is allowed, but not required, to have a maximum of two (2) Non-Playing Coaches. These individuals are required to officially register for the Circuit Event at no cost using the discount code NONPLAYINGCOACH2017 before the same player registration deadline. This includes signing the same waiver that all players must sign. As a reminder, a Non-Playing Coach is allowed to engage with the Game Referees ONLY if they are wearing the required Captain’s Band during the Game.
Required Check-in at HQ
All Captains, Players, and Non-Playing Coaches will be required to check-in at HQ prior to the start of their first game and will need to bring formal identification (ex. valid driver’s license or passport). Check-in begins one (1) hour prior to start of the first game. Failure to properly check in may result in a yellow card for the player and/or team captain.
Approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of games for the day, all Captains, Non-Playing Coaches, and Referees are required to attend a brief meeting at HQ. Ground rules for the day will be covered and you will have an opportunity to ask questions in an interactive environment.
Captains, Players, and Non-Playing Coaches are to be held accountable for the behavior of their teammates, supporters and guests. If the conduct of any member of such group or groups is deemed by Kickball365 to be unsportsmanlike or disruptive to the competition, then those individuals may be subject to disciplinary actions up to and including ejection from the park.
