Hey guys, As many of you know this will be my last game with Richmond WAKA as I will be taking my talents to Herndon, VA to have the pleasure of wearing a suit to work every day, making a good chunk more money, and probably losing my soul at some point in the process. I just wanted to take a minute ...
BTW first week ever of summer league in kickball here in RVA i think we did something where you moon the opposing team as you cross home plate if you kick a HR... I can't remember too much of that season though... mainly just that pirates and schoolgirls is an awesome theme...
Signups are going on right now for summer league, but it's about the opposite of competitive (which I believe is drunk). Still a good way to get to know people before fall season starts up.
Oh man i could have won the worst sunburn... the downside to those short shorts... OK here is the entire list as I presented them: Most Awesome New Team: Steele Peters (though we were pretty much not new, but hey, the people voted...) Most Charitable Team: Brocery Bags Most Fun Team to Play: KIOS Cu...
2nd round: - B-Bage 9 Steele Peters 5 in 7 innings - I take the blame for the loss trying to score from second on a fly ball to the shallow outfield with Petros on deck... the next inning B-Bags found all the holes...(TWSS) - SK beat En Fuego in 8 innings, though I don't know the score... - Ligers w...
They were ok - only real problem is that a lot of the more fun awards - hardest partiers, most likely to join a convent, etc., were all at bonaroo, which made things rather anti-climactic... Steele and Lucy Carriag won MVP's, KIOS won hardest partiers and most fun team to play, Ducey and Garda won c...
ok thanks Whit - I'll put you with jeremiah/franz at 11AM in the SK/En Fuego game, Tim and Whit C for the SP BB game and Me and Ducey for the Liger/Shocker game. If we need refs for GS and Mach we'll use Steele and someone else (tim again?)
Thanks for the volunteering guys - made my job really easy!
Thanks, but I already have Tim doing home and Whit Clements doing 1st. I could use him in the SK/En Fuego game (Jeremiah doing first). Also, if Machiavelli plays (and they should, even if it's only a scrimmage, but I don't think it should be a scrimmage), I'll need refs for that one - Ducey will be ...
BTW I need a player from each team to ref the hour that they are not playing - i.e. I need a Liger, a Golden Shower, a Shocker, and Tim (thanks Tim) to ref the 11:00 game and a B-Bag, myself, someone from En Fuego, and someone from SK to ref the noon games. let me know who is going to do it for each...
OK so it looks like we have the results in for round 1 of the playoffs: 3. Hofnars 6 Machiavelli 0: This game was actually pretty close until around the last inning or so, when some defensive miscues really hurt Machiavelli. That said, Hofnars claim they will have to forfeit on Saturday as no one wi...
I think like 5 of the 6 B-Bag runs happened in the last two innings, SK scored 7 runs each in the first and second (all with two out in the second), then didn't need to bat in the third. Marty pitched a no-hitter, even if it was only 3 innings long. I didn't see any of En-Fuego or Golden Shower, but...

Nope - The Richmond Justice League (AKA Richmond Lushes) has split up into a few teams, though we may make our TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO INEBRIATION THIS SUMMER... maybe
It all depends on who is going to be there for KIOS. Their smaller lineup is either really good for them (if they players that didn't go to bonnaroo are the better ones) or really good for Shockers, who I think will surprise a few people. BTW on a serious note with temps easily in the high 90s if no...
We have enough refs for this Thursday's games, but we will no doubt need more refs for the games this Saturday. It would be awesome to get some really good volunteers for those games, especially if your team loses Thursday or early Saturday.
Getting back to the playoffs, It looks like we have the following games for this Thursday: Early Games 4. En Fuego v. 13. Lunch @ the Y 5. Scared Kickless v. 12. McLovin' Mitts 8. Brocery Bags v. 9. I'd Buy That for a Dollar Late Games 3. Hofnars v. 14. Machiavelli 6. Lemon Party v. 11. Nine Inch Ma...
OK Kids this is the final power rankings for the regular season: 1. Steele Peters presents: Zebrashark! : Congrats to the Zebrashark for pulling off an undefeated season, which hasn't happened since, well, probably like 2 seasons ago or something. Strangely enough, though, the number 1 seed in the p...
So wait, brocery bags BEAT NIM? The website says it was the other way around. If that's the case then B-Bags are the 8 and Robo-Feathers is the 9. Either way they will either lose to Steele Peters or win it all. There is no middle ground allowed.
The league website did not take into account the tie-breakers, so the playoffs will look like this: 1. Steele Peters v. 16. Bye 8. Robo-Feathers v. 9. Brocery Bags 5. Scared Kickless v. 12. McLovin 4. En Fuego v. 13. Lunch @ Y 3. Hofnars v. 14. Machiavelli 6. Lemon Party v. 11. Shockers 7. KIOS v. 1...
Meanwhile, If En Fuego is to win that game the playoffs look like this: 1. Steele Peters v. 16. Bye 8. Robo-Feathers v. 9. Brocery Bags 5. Lemon Party v. 12. McLovin 4. Scared Kickless v. 13. Lunch @ Y 3. En Fuego v. 14. Machiavelli 6. Hofnars v. 11. Nine Inch Males 7. Kickin it Old School v. 10. Sh...
OK so after this past week, and looking at the tie breakers, the seedings will really come down to who wins between En Fuego and Hofnars (winner gets the three seed). If Hofnars win, then the first round looks like this: 1. Steele Peters v. 16. Bye 8. Robo-Feathers v. 9. Brocery Bags 5. Scared Kickl...
OK Kids, these may look a bit familiar, butt here may be a change or two (I'm too lazy to go back and look at last week's rankings). 1. Steele Peters presents: Zebrashark! : No surprise here after an easy win over robo-feathers in which the 'shark used the max number of girls on defense for every in...
We didn't bunt at all and went up 6-1 after the top of the second, so we played the max amount of girls in the field for the rest of the game. At least it made for some quality entertainment.
Supposedly I did it in a little over 4 and a half minutes, but rumor has it that Stan, who won the mens category and came in second in the glutton category is focusing the entirety of his talents on the glutton category. If I were a betting man I'd put my money on Stan setting a new record.
By slim down, I assume you mean lose some of our beer guts. That's not likely to happen to most of us without some serious life changes so stop trying to encourage people to not go to Mulligans after the games, okay. ? I was thinking more along the lines of slimming down after GOING AGUSTUS GLOOP O...
Now that Pete got the ball rolling with playoff predictions, I think it deserves a separate thread. After looking at the current Standings and the schedule, I see the playoffs looking like this: 1. Steele Peters present: Zebrashark! (9-0-0) v. 16. Bye 8. I'd Buy (a new team name if I had a dollar) (...
THAT was an interesting week of kickball... I think... I wasn't there... Anyway, assuming the results on the website are correct (they still never posted my HR from last week) here are the new power rankings: 1. Steele Peters present: Zebrashark! : Apparently the Zebrashark! took "slow your rol...
Additional prediction: whining about the reffing by many teams, even though they all send first-timers who don't understand rules like double kicks, knee balls, and the actual strike zone...
I have a strategy? Yes. It's called "Eat really really fast." Really it's just another meal for me... I know Silvia really wants you or someone else to win, as I have vowed to put an end to my career and retire from competitive eating the first time I lose (which has yet to happen - 3 for ...
So the hot dog eating contest at City Dogs is this weekend, who's in? I believe all three defending champs are coming back to defend the title (Stan in mens, Cara in womens, Myself in gluttons) - anyone expecting to come in and shock the world... or at least City Dogs?
After playing NIM I can see them putting up more runs, but giving up a bunch too - they're scoring is really determined by how they put together a lineup. If we end up playing, the fields will most likely be pretty wet - that could be a bit help for Steele Peters. I saw some of the En Fuego game las...
Thanks, Pete, for picking up the slack when I was busy as hell with work. Now that it has slowed down for the day, I'll throw some power rankings at you guys: 1. Steele Peters Presents: Zebrashark! : A couple people came up to me at the bar last night and asked "How do you guys win every game?&...
OK so I have Darkness at home and your choice of: Jen Brinson from Hofnars Joe Whitchurch from Robo-Feathers Tim Ketchum from Lunch and so far that's really it... Scotty is listed as a possible ref right now too, but he never actually does it, so I give his team zero credit for ability to ref. Also ...
I'm very tempted to put someone who cracks under pressure and someone who doesn't give a damn, just so i can sit back and watch the shit-show that would result. That said, I'll do what I can to get you guys the refs you deserve, but I can only work with the names I get.
That can easily be solved by a gentlemen's agreement before the game that would allow Secord to play. Maybe Ligers would have to by Farmer and Jeremiah each a drink at the bar for having to put up with him...
Kinda obscure, but look up SNL's Ninja Pep Talk. It was kinda like that. Everyone on Lunch was yelling not to kick it to third, and everyone (including those yelling not to) kicked it to Steele at third. womp womp.
