Re: [National Tour 2013] Rankings After GKO2013

I'd prefer it over what is in place now, but frankly I think all of the computer rankings are subject to inherent flaws due to the nature of having so many variables across the kickball landscape. Its just difficult to try and quantify and compare teams through math when every team plays a completel...

Re: [National Tour 2013] Rankings After GKO2013

I bowed out of this conversation long ago because it seemed like no one was really listening, but since it has resurrected I will make a couple of points. 1) Not accounting for strength of schedule (or strength of overall field) at these tourneys is silly. Even the old CC points formula accounted fo...

Re: Sfko pools?

I would worry more about the Rockstar Lifestyles and the Peninsula Pounders who have spent thousands of dollars on entrance fees already, only to be rewarded with a lower seed than any local team or social team that played a tourney last year. Re: [KickballLegends] CIRCUIT POWER RANKINGS - Preseason 201

If the rankings and subsequent seedings are pulled from Changer Banger's formula, then this is nothing more than power rankings. You can't even point at these and say they will sway something like a captain's vote so who cares how these results come out? Why does it matter if teams talk about their ...

Re: [2013] FEEDBACK REQUESTED “Event Seeding Committee”

Can you explain why 6 team pools are better? I thought 6 team pools is where the problem was because we only play 4 games. 5 team pools seem pretty cut and dry. I think having an Executive Committee determine seeds is a TERRIBLE idea. I like where the conversation has been going but I wanted to provide some feedback and throw additional ideas out for discussion. Although I'm not a huge fan of ever adding a "requirement" that teams must attend a certain # of events per year. I'm also not a fan of taking an average of 2 ...

Re: [CCC2012] Official Pools Announced

I don't think anyone has a problem with how the seedings were done. The only issue I have is that in two pools the #2 and #3 seeds are not going to play each other (as currently structured). This means that those two teams have a huge advantage, not only within those pools, but also compared to the ...

Re: [CSS] Request for Feedback v.2013 Discussion / Proposal

However, another way to calculate points and still get teams to travel for earning points for a better CC seed would be to calculate the teams best 3 tournament appearances and drop all other in calculation. Shane - In my method, there is no cake schedule really. The wildcard schedule is softer than in your version, but its more balanced all the way around for ALL 6 teams. Re: [CCC2012] Official Pools Announced

The problem with the current setup, is there is a clear distinction between the caliber of the top 3 teams and the 4th team, and as currently constructed, the top team is playing two of the top three, while the others are only playing one. I'd rather be the 2 or 3 seed in that case. Basically the 1...

Well MK you can assume anything however I can tell you that the WC team in my pool doesn't suck lol. Another big question will be whether there is a payout for these regionals or if you just get a qualifying bid for FC? If they have legitimate payouts, I could see these tourneys getting decent interest.

If it is six pools of 5 (which would make sense at this point), Kolanko's post above would be accurate using a normal 6-pool snake.

Crash said it best, at the end of the day its kickball. So those plays were within the rules then? Doesn't appear the catcher goes outside the box until after the ball is kicked.

Note: I realize he may have been encroaching (tough to tell for sure) in the first play, but that isn't what is being discussed here.

I could be wrong, but I think they removed the front cone because of the change in the grey area rules which give a bunter as much or more of an advantage as a catcher running through that zone.

Putting the cones at the front won't really change much. I never see a catcher field a bunt right on the 3rd base line and try a chest pass from there.
