Not sure if this falls into the good or bad category but the amount of colored mohawks/landing strips on peoples bodies at the tournament on Saturday. I haven't seen this many colored mohawks/landing strips on people since October 2010 when I was sitting front row with Barry, StevieSlam, Nick (from ...
"pool of death" is when you have a tough pool you may not get out of. These games were no different than the Usa vs Mexico exhibition game that was on the other night. Sucks for the NYSH that their 3-0 record is tainted by teams saying they didnt have to try to win. Great point Kevin. Alt...
I think this tournament did an injustice to teams like JCru and the team from Maine. They are out there playing social teams then have to play quality opponents. They never have the ability to make adjustments in pool play. The team from Maine I think beats us in the round of 16 if they had played a...
My hats off to Panik. They played tough. Know McCoy got physically banged up in that last game and played through it. JC kicked a BOMB in the semis and cramped up between 2nd and 3rd on what was a kick he probably could have walked around the bases on. OSC also made great kicks and their pitcher (D...
I'm not sure why people are surprised by the NYSH. Everyone knows they are deep with a quality roster. On the field, they are basically the 2011 version of Wu Tang Killers. Same exact tournament results so far with a slightly worse pool play record then WTK.
I explained to the Ref how the physics made it impossible for the runner not to be out because the direction the ball traveled and where he "got it" he couldn't have been on the base. After the game he goes, did I blow that call? I said very much so. He did a good job behind the plate. He ...
Jelly: Figures they show up with a defense against you guys. Judging by the early scores they weren't so sharp in pool play... but I guess with this format the top-8 teams could have literally played in lounge chairs and worried about their A-Game during the elims. It played out as we thought it mi...
Lights are on Wow, that call changes the momentum of the game allowing us to get the upper hand. In our games there would 4-6 bad calls, but they pretty much were split between both teams. I give these refs credit, but they are getting paid and if you can't make a call and stick by it (right or wro...
Kevin I heard they are staying at the HOTel cORAL esSEX
MEATBALLKEVIN wrote:Revenge of the Loser Nerds will make a good run this weekend. I heard they are selling pies with a naked picture of girls from other teams at the bottom of it. And the have booger, the best player in the game.
Good stuff Cullen, thanks. Back from brunch and have several points to clear up. @C-Rab Thank you for pushing for a decision. You are right and one needs to be made. The logistics for the spread out fields actually work a lot better for the tiered pools and that is what I am going to do. @Jared The ...
I don't plan on wearing turf shoes on this surface. J Just saying that its a week before the tournament and we had one big change and the pools have not been decided yet. This is why the Circuit should run all their own events. Its the week before the event and we have had a field surface change and...
This is why the Circuit should run all their own events. Its the week before the event and we have had a field surface change and still have not decided on a pool system yet. OSC is strongly AGAINST the Tiered System, and strongly for the Snake System. Every other team not named Panik Attack (Meatba...
I want to play Dematas to see if he has lost a step, I owe the California guys a 40, and what could be better than a combination of the two in the country that hype themselves the most, Flying V and IB Jk.
I agree it would be very interesting. Every game would be awesome and it really benefits the teams like the NYSH and Panik who are 3 deep at every top position. Captains are going to have to plan a startegy on the fly because it has never been used before and that is really interesting. I am a fan o...
I don't think people care either way, I think what people (or maybe its just me) want is that a decision be made one way or the other sooner rather than later. I do have one question about the snake system. Shouldn't Panic have the lowest ranked team in their pool? Ithink that should be explained as...
3. I think the BLK team has more experience playing with Circuit rules and will have more athletes. I would say maybe Jellystone is better, but BLK should be better than the other WAKA teams. I can't see them threatening any Circuit teams though. 5. BsB beat the NYSH by at least two runs in DC and I...
Thanks for all your hard work Cullen for putting this thing together and dealing with all the NYC Parks and Rec BS. I think a big deal is being made about pool play and who plays who. In the end, what really matters, is who is left standing at the end of the day and not being able to brag about who ...
It seems like multiple teams who proclaimed they only wanted local players, changed their stance on out-of-state players by July to "just win baby." I wouldn't have problem as a player with the change but if your results don't get better or in same cases are worse your local players who ha...
Casey said it best last year. I like these rules a lot. I know there was mention of being able to transfer to one team and then transfer back to your original team after a tournament, but I thought that was a bit too lenient. There may be some that are in favor of being able to transfer back, becaus...
2. The Circuit is great but sometimes gets in its own way and doesn't stand its ground (Florida tournament/rule book 2010, the restriction issue being debated now, the Forgotten year zero etc. I also think they need to run all events to bring more money into the Circuit rather than farm them out. Wi...
If I made a comment like this I'd be labeled an a-hole, oh well. I've picked the NYSH to get to two final fours but man the way their outfield has dropped balls and been burnt deep this year I'm convinced they have been taking outfield reps riding tricycles. [web_site][/web_site] Anything that would...
I am a big Slam fan. The guy has worked his butt off to get better. He may only be a guy that plays maybe one or two throw away games, but he really is the ultimate team guy.
You guys chose to play on the undulating field for semis and finals and it threw everyone off. Quite possibly the worst field ever. At charger you had to run downa slope, then up then down to field a ball in a span of 7 yards.
Ricky is a genius. This move will ensure that Chelsea and Tom are able to attend every game and practice. Jack and I are deciding our future plans right now and the NYSH are not factoring in...no homo...We are thinking about forming a team in the San Fran area though. Sorry Smash I never wanted it t...
I respect your post but if I was having serious family problems I wouldn't be traveling to kickball events every month and I most certainly I wouldn't be talking about it on a public message board. Walking out on your teammates is bush league. To all: I'm dealing with serious life changing family is...
Where are you playing them, in Florida, Vegas or on their home turf? This goes back to the debate of how you rank teams...based on overall resume for past several months (2011 in this case), or based on who is hotter now. I think people's opinion differ on this. I agree that FL, LIU and IB should ro...
1. Meatballs- winning the two most competitive tournaments this year has to land them at #1. 2. Panik - Should be the favorite for NYC. 3. LIU - Two semifinal trips in the two biggest events so far this year. 4. Fully Loaded - Still seems like they had their best tournament so far this year in SoFla...
You are dead on Kevin. When I played charger in NY Star, playing on turf was a huge advantage for me on defense because I was faster on my first step to the ball andthe type of bounce you get off of turf is consistent time after time for the scoop and throw.
