At times I felt I was reading pages from Tucker Max. I wish I would've come across this a couple months earlier though.
I'm the pitcher and captain of Hold My Beer and champs of 3 out of the past 4 seasons of this league who you referenced watching back in an April thread. It sounds like you were on Angry Beavers last season, and I don't blame you for being angry. Unfortunately we never crossed paths and I didn't play your team or ref your team at all. Looking back, you guys had a very soft schedule and also didn't play the other top team in our league, 99 Problems. I really think that between our team and 99 Problems, we could field a competetive circuit team. We just need to introduce the circuit to the right people to gain enough support, and I already have a least a few on board.
It sounds like you may be back in Charlotte soon. If so, let me know. Until then, I'll be doing what I can to spread the bhr=hj word around the league.
Hold my beer is the red team right? Unfortunately, you are correct, we didn't get to play either of the teams that I would even consider average. I talked to your third baseman (your brother?) about traveling and about Founders Cup and he seemed up to the idea, but then I never really saw your team again. I talked to the 1b from the green team several times about trying to get a team to the Atlanta tournament, but it never happened.
I'm only supposed to be in Vegas for six months, then I'll be back in Charlotte, so try to get the good word of the circuit spreading and I'll do the same when I get back. There's a tournament in Boston next month, that should be great, see if you can round some people up for that. More importantly, get people practicing their bhr. I had about 7 bunt triples in that season and just never could seal the deal.
Welcome to the boards and get some other people from Charlotte on here; it's the easiest way to get people motivated to travel.
