Ball misses him, goes into the outfield and our guy advances two bases and scores. Their first basemen is screaming, "one base on an overthrow", over and over. After informing him what constitutes an overthrow, he gets even more pissed and starts mumbling, "fucking El Guago being super douchey trying to score more runs...super douche...oh, we need to run the score up...super douchey...douchey". He then proceeds to crush his half full beer with his foot.

Nice. I forgot, but i yelled at a girl on the team we played Wednesday. Bottom of 7th, tied game, runners on 1st and 3rd, 1 out. I ask the team if a girl is on deck because i want to walk the guy and get to her. They refuse to tell me, inform me they don't have to tell me, and start yelling at me. I ask the ref to make them tell yme and one of the girls starts being a bitch. I yelled back at her "the men are talking" and she shut up. In hindsight I wish I would have worked a 'honey' in my yelling at her, but the point was made. Needless to say, the guy kicker popped up to first, the first baseman dropped it and fumbled around trying to pick it up for a half hour and the guy from third scored.[/

That was an absolute no win situation that makes me want to start cutting (myself)
My only answer to this is that Ultra is too good so that everything else becomes horrible.
Apparently I've learned to accept what happens in my 3 horrible WAKA divisions. I mean shit, how the fuck am I 13/13 (possibly 13 of those were R's too)?
BTaylor - next mission : Physical altercation with a girl. Preferably a large beastly one.

I'm still working on the bhr. I cant get them to throw to first though, so its turning out to be more difficult than expected.

then bunt up one. as for an altercation with a girl, i think it would be better if you got one to throw a drink at you

The end game here is ti^2 so i dont think pissing off the ladies is going to help that cause.

We play 7 inning. When everyone is just kicking and popping out they dont take very long. The games rarely take over an hour.

The last few posts have made me even more excited for Denver's first-ever non-league competitive fast-pitch cash-money tournament tomorrow! I'm excited to avoid all of this for one day in my own city!

3-3, 3 bunts, zero throws to first, zero attempts for a bhr.
Game highlights: exactly like last week our first baseman dropped a lazy fly ball at first allowing two people to score in the bottom of the seventh. Of the 42 possible outs exactly zero were made by either third baseman throwing the ball to a base. That has got to be a record. Only about 4 total outs were recorded by the catcher throwing the ball to a base. There's about 15 guys on our team and I think three of us can kick the ball to the outfield. The ball has no spin, no velocity, and almost no bounce yet no one can get it to the outfield. We left the bases loaded three times. We lost to Ernst & Young last night. Yes, that is a team made up of accountants.

The job I moved to Charlotte for has been put on hold so I'm probably going to have to relocate for about six months. Looking like either Vegas or Miami. McNugget if its Vegas be ready cause we are gonna dominate some shit.

I was looking back at this trying to figure out how this shitshow of a thread got going and saw this. Flag day is next Thursday and we have not made nearly enough progress.

Tough decision my friend. Miami is closer to ultra but a zombie attack can break out at any time. Vegas would be fun but the talent here sucks with the exception of 2 teams.

Ps your fellow party rocker teammates will be in Vegas next month (including my fake Florida wife) so if you moved here hopefully it would be before then.

How about Atlanta? You can help with the new Circuit league and I have a room for rent at my house for $450 (utilities included). You can't get much cheaper that that for living in Buckhead.

Not sure how I didn't recall this earlier, but I have one of my teammates kicking a bunt homerun, pitched from John Salley, with Carlton in the mix as well on film, from a game we played VS Best Damn Sports Show many years back. Someone dug it up and tagged me in it today, thought it was great.

2:20 is the bunt homerun

Last regular season game and weve somehow gotten worse. We tied a winless team last night. I went 2-2 with zero throws to first. The second time I even used Bricks "fake an injury to get a throw" technique and they still didn't throw it. Could have definitely used it because the guy we had kicking second decided he should just watch strike three roll right over the plate. Tournament is Saturday and i will probably go for the bhr every time regardless of score, situation, defense, etc.

By hardware you mean medals that WAKA gives out to league champions? At least thats what they do out here. Go win some medals so we can take a trip to St. Louis and show them off to the STL Big Balls guys.

It'll be a miracle if we win 1 game. McNugget, looks like I'm moving to Vegas for 3-4 months some time in July. If theres a league during that time I'll play in 120 degree temps.

Sweet. There are 3 leagues and 1 is beyond terrible. The other two will be in week 1 and week 4 next week. Hopefully you can get in half way through for some discount (it's a stretch). Hit me up when you're moving and I'll help out with all this stuff.

I almost set a record for charlotte kickball. Unfortunately it was not for a bhr. The end of the season tournament was Saturday and yet again, I did even get to attempt it. In the third inning I wanted to intentionally walk someone and asked the ump if we had to throw the pitches or if we could just send him to first. He said he didnt know cause he's never seen anyone intentionally walked before. I could have been a legend!! I played 9 games of kickball here and did not get out once on a bunt. Anyone whos seen me play kickball can figure out how bad that makes this league. Static, I owe you a shot for getting the bhr before anyone else in the challenge, so dont forget to collect on that. McNugget, I'll let you know about vegas. My work just told me to start looking for housing, so i guess its pretty much a done deal that ill be playing kickball in 120 degree temps for a little while.

I had two very terrible and never before seen calls last night in a local city league that went against my team. This was a playoff game too.

First was a girl on our team who kicked a sweet double in center field to start the inning. The double was called back and ruled a dead ball so naturally I asked why since it was nowhere near foul and she was clearly in the kicking box. The ref said it was because we didnt have a first base coach. ARE F'N KIDDING ME?!? According to the ref the first base coach is essential for safety reasons so he called a dead ball once our kicker reached second and he noticed there wasn't a coach at first base. And yes, she popped out later in the at bat which didn't help matters at all.

Second bad call was in the bottom of the last inning. Our team was up by 3 runs with 2 outs and a runner on first. The kicker lined it to our pitcher for the third out and game over. Not so fast. The ref said the runner at first base was leading off so he ruled it a dead ball and said the kicker gets another chance. I obviously argued that leading off is a penalty on the offense, not the defense, and that any illegal kick caught by the defense results in an out. Common sense bro but I guess not in this league. They ended up scoring 2 more runs after that so we barely won by 1 run.

Bonus: we were playing the team with the guy who stands about 40 feet behind home plate when he kicks. There is a pic of it somewhere in this thread in case you previously missed that hilarity.

Is this a WAKA league? This sounds like a WAKA rule.

I can't imagine how I'd react to this, but I highly doubt it would be in any kind of mature or adult manner...

Where those calls actually within the rules of the league or was the ref just making them up.

The ref has admitted on several occasions that they "stole" the basic rules from other leagues such as WAKA and that the person in charge doesn't know much about kickball to begin with. Either way he clearly makes some rules up as he goes. Even for a laid back guy like me my blood boils at some of his calls.

Two weeks ago the same ref was 15 minutes late and both teams were ready to go on time. Exactly at 750 (35 minutes later) he called the game due to time limit even though the game was in the third inning. One guy was so mad he drove all that way for such a short game I thought he was going to sucker punch the ref. The best part is the game after that was a forfeit so the two teams could have easily kept playing.

The SAME ref also missed a few balls and strikes last night because he kept looking up to see the international space station which was visible during the game.

While I'm ranting I might as well mention that he also announces the score as (however much the team is winning by) to zero. It's both confusing and annoying because we don't know if he missed any runs that were scored. For example if it's 10-6 he says the score is 4-0. How hard is it to say 10-6 or that team X is up by 4 which is something everyone can easily understand.

Cause it was hiding in between innings so he couldn't look at it when people weren't playing.

Woohoo! Not sure when the next circuit event is that we'll be at after SDKO. We'll be at FC in Vegas of course.

Our tournament was a few weeks ago. With a small five team league, everyone had seen all our tricks and we only had six guys available to play. We came really close to pulling off the win, but the team we faced in the finals had some pretty accurate kickers that put the ball in our obvious spots. I did have a blast playing catcher for our first game though.

Hearing that the winning team is split between playing wed and thurs, so I'm hoping we get some new blood. I'd love to see them move over to Thursdays. I think that's the push that would finally get them to start bunting. There's no way a non-bunting team will win that night.

Static I owe you a shot as well so remind me this weekend in San Diego.

The stars have finally aligned themselves with btaylor and I playing on the same team in Las Vegas starting next week. This thread may see new heights in the coming weeks or months if that's even possible. Stay tuned.

Shit is about to get real! However, looking like I'll be living about 35 minutes from the fields so I not sure how much drinking I'll be able to do.
