The 1 bounce tourney highlight footage that Oakley posted was full of people pitching slow and using a lot of 2 bounce anyway, which surprised me. I assumed everyone was just aiming for the front of the plate and throwing the s*** out of the ball. Is that not usually the case? Maybe the talent level was a few steps below back then.

There was more 2-bounce in that video because 2-bounce had just been implemented by WAKA, so some of the pitchers were throwing the way they'd throw in league play anyway.

In the BoE that same year, Make It Rain and Frosty Balls threw a lot of 2-bounce even though that was a 1-bounce tourney as well. I'd expect that that's more like what you'd see in VA Beach.

This tournament rocked. I love the shot of my brother spiking the ball after a pop up. Lol.

One bounce is NOT that big a deal. I don't think that it will affect that many kickers. We all adjust.

Will the points race be that close that this event really makes a huge difference?

I still vote for us to actually TRY it. If it works with the talent level of the modern teams, leave the option for a one bounce event in the rules. If not, then you people against it have the ammo to make sure it never happens again.

Karl (NYSH) was my introduction to scary 1 bounce.
I was playing on my awful team the Bootleggers at FC 08.
We played Dumpster Fire (Oakley, Amy, Karl, J-Hard etc).
I don't think I had ever seen a kickball cross the plate so hard before. WHEW!
Apparently you weren't THAT good cuz I remember being on base (saying stupid shit to Amy). Hmmm maybe J-Hard was pitching my at kick?

i can't tell if you're joking or serious here.

the "girl" playing catcher is eric, noshoes' little brother, pre-haircut. you may know him as "the pirate" (yarrr). and that's not Frosty Balls, that's Crazy Kickers. they borrowed larry, trey, dan, noshoes, and eric for the day (though i think at the time trey was playing for Blue Balls, and larry and dan joined him the following season). a chunk of what used to be Crazy Kickers is now Foot Snipers. they've got history.

yeah waka cjanged to 2 bounce starting the new year in 2009. sfko 2009 kept it 1 bounce cause teams already signed up with it being a 1 bounce event. Thats why Hey Whoa was there and tied that finals game.
