Meatballs vs Riff Raff - Rated PG

Yeah, but what I'm saying is... Teams like Riff Raff don't cut their lineup against teams without depth... They cut their lineup against teams with depth, so saying that it doesn't matter as much against a team like MEATBALLS is not only BS, but also an excuse to defend cutting their roster cause they know they're gonna get shit for it.

I'm agreeing with you, TK. I'm not sure why you're reiterating the same point I made. Riff Raff acknowledges that they have no chance of beating MB with their full team so they're sitting a lot of their weaker players. I'm fine with that strategy for tournaments, but I think it's bush league for division play.

That I just don't understand. Why pay to play for a team that don't want you around for the big games. Those games are the reason to play competitive kickball. Make them pay to fill up the ghost spots.

Some of us just play for fun, IJK. :D

Not only division play, but for division tourney play.

Open tourneys or traveling tourneys like FC, far game.

Yes, but those are not the type of people that Riff Raff will recruit.

IDK, maybe some people just like playing the games that are easy wins. like they are girlfriends or something that really wouldn't be on the team anyways except to fill up roster spots instead of having Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the roster.

I am not going to get into an argument here so I will state the fact and thats it. There is only 1 person this week who has decided not to play that is able to make the game, and that is coach gussack.

Oh, and btw I think it's fine that they've cut their line up, but I just didn't want Flades to get away with slipping that statement in there that "the advantage is minimalized", cause I don't agree... Hi Flades! :)

Yeah, not sure if this is the case, but some people do play kick just for the fun of it and don't want to play in a super competitive game, so they sit out.

One reason we left WAKA is they would put a bunch of individuals on your team so every roster was 20+. We let everyone kick and play defensively. Why take it out on the people that just signed up to have fun and got stuck on a good team.

Yeah, I used to send a team email before the season telling them what the team was all about and they might want to ask for a new team. Some never showed up, some did, after kicking them at the bottom and playing them an inning, they stopped showing up. I forgot how nice I used to be. :o

I guess there was enough of an investment in rope, duct tape, and padlocks to keep the rest of the team from being able to make it.

We don't believe in that. It was WAKA that screwed you by placing random people on your team to get more money. Not the individual. So we would want them to have a good time and not scare them away. So we left WAKA.

Yeah, that seems crazy... All the competitive teams I've played on have filled the roster with our own team... When I played on crappy teams is when we got stuck with randoms... That sucked cause we were a sucky team to being with, getting stuck with even suckier players.

We drank a lot though :)

or the fact that kickball does not run anyones lives on our team. I dont know about everyone but I know 2 people will be in California, 1 is having surgery either tomorrow or friday and one works in a hospital and is has to work late shifts now and then.

Typical message board today, everyone hate on the RR. TK stop trying to be a hard ass and go fist yourself!!

we're not "cutting" anything...we always play with between 14-16

and i'm saying us being a smaller lineup is not THAT big of an advantage against you guys because your whole team is good. its a compliment to yall...

No hatin here, I have no problems with teams shaving their roster if that is how they roll, doesn't sound like you all are doing that though. I'm a fan of RR and Meatballs, but untill I get a RR shirt, I'm sticking with the Meatballs. :D RR won in Vegas, but this Meatball team appears to have more horses, should be a good one, may the best team win.

Jki 2 BD 1

Anyone from Meatballs or Riff Raff want to bet on the game? I'll bet the first person to say their team will win a car bomb that it won't happen.

a simple statement from people that know FL kickball. But for those that are new and get sucked in from advertisement, a whole new story.

i understand the "randoms".....fine...but teams like RR that fill up the roster so they don't get randoms is what i'm referring to.

not for nothing, but when you get like between 3-5 competitive games out of 11, I'm not sure you can really call it highly competitive.

You're right, but with the top level teams only getting 3-5. All of the other teams have competitive games each week.

We have like 9 or 10 girls on our roster. Most of these girls are here for fun, and are very "lady like" and dont like getting hit by big rubber balls. Of them, we are lucky to get 4 each week or 5 each week. They dont care about comming each week and certainly dont want to play against teams that take cheap shots at teams like the Meatballs catcher did. This week, we are missing 2 of our top 4 girls.

Like ICatch has already said we dont cut our line-up. There is one player sitting because HE DOESNT want to play. He is our coach and leader. He will be pantsed at least twice during his pregame speach.

TK, there is a reason we didnt want girls like you and Tracy on our team. We dont want you girls showing up every week, which you would do! We like our top 3 or 4 plus one girl. Yes, thats how we recruit and fill up a roster. Every person on our roster will play when they want to, we have no ghosts.

TK, hope you are done fisting so you can reply.
