which class? i've always been partial to elemental classes and necromancer classes, so likely i'll be playing a wizard first, followed by a witch doctor. i found out yesterday that guild wars 2 comes out in just a couple months, so i'd better hurry up with d3!

Funny how all WC tourneys are JV tourneys because EC teams are not willing to travel because of cost; however, we get shit for not forking up the $ to travel to the EC.

I had a great Saturday with the girl. We drove up to Sedona and did a 6 mile / 3 hour hike. Had lunch / dinner at a bar and grill. Then watched a movie.

This will become a once a month outing!

yeah, i'm pretty fed up with the ec/wc crap. a tournament is a tournament. my last tournament win was a charity tournament 4 years ago with a whopping 6 teams. it still feels good to win! makes me want to move back west more and more every day. i live in virginia and it doesn't make me proud that people on the east coast think they're better, it makes me want to not live on the east coast.

my new computer arrived pre-assembled last night. just have to plug it in. i already have my copy of diablo 3 purchased and waiting for download/install. we have practice tonight, then i have to clean the house so i won't be ashamed to have people come check in on axel while we're gone. tomorrow we have a game, then i am going to try to finish up making a swimsuit i started on saturday. thursday i have to finish packing because we're leaving thursday night for florida, and i'll be afk until monday morning. i won't even get to boot up my new compy for the first time until i get home from work monday. i'm going to miss a whole week of playing d3! i'm so upset!

d3 = diablo 3. it's a video game. it's the third game in a series (hence the 3 in the title). d2 came out in 2001 so those of us that have been fans have waited a LONG time for this one. i played d2 until about 2005 when i introduced it to bryan, who is a much better strategist than i am. he promptly blew past any achievements i'd ever made in the game, made me look like a total n00b, and i quit because he just ruined the whole thing for me (not really. i needed to quit anyway). a bunch of my friends took today off from work and are already playing right now and posting on facebook about how much fun it is. i couldn't even get into the beta to do a trial play of it because my current/old compy is too slow. the game wouldn't even allow me to log in.

I think you've just stumbled upon a new precedent. Every time a Mod has to lock a thread, we're owed drinks at the next tournament we're at.

perhaps it ought to just become a drinking game. so far i only have three rules, though, so someone else is going to have to help with this.

- every time we have to lock a thread, the offending user(s) owe the locking mod a drink.
- every time we have to ban someone (non-spammer, let's not go crazy here), the offending user(s) owe the banning mod a drink.
- every time you win a tournament, your team owes the operations staff (admin, shane, event manager, operations manager, etc.) a round of drinks.

how about every time someone has to save the hype cup from being left at the bar, the current cup holder owes the trophy saver a drink?

the trick for me was playing alongside my significant other, rather than trying to get him to stop playing the game and go hang out with me instead. once i figured that out, it became a lot more fun because i wasn't fighting it anymore. we could help each other mule, i tend to like standing back and blowing stuff up (elementalist) whereas my significant others have always been more of the meat shield (barbarian) types. it works out well, usually.

once we got axel, though, i pretty much quit gaming because he needed so much attention as a puppy that i just couldn't devote the time to the game. i couldn't put together 10 straight minutes to playing when he might get bored and pee on the floor when we weren't looking. now that he's 2 years old and we can leave him alone without worry he's going to get into something, i'm going to give gaming another shot. i kinda miss the mind-numbing quality of it.
