Postby MEATBALLKEVIN » October 15th, 2009, 6:38 pm

I have not read one post on here since vegas so i have no clue what you all have been talking about this week . This will be my one and only post for a couple months till we get closer to the SoFla tournament .

Kickball events- Good times but Tao is way to "clubby" for kickballers

Fields- It is what it is. Some were crap and some were fine. Its the same way for the team you are playing against so deal with it .

Format- Not a fan of them making it 32 as opposed to 16 getting in to the elimination

Tournament running on time- It was all good until my team had to sit around twice (round of 16 and 8 ) for 20-30 min. with the team we were about to play . The same round we were in games were going on and we had no refs at our field . WTF?

Teams / tournament- Congrats to The Others . Great team with great people. Nice job.

BD/RR- Great job on how far you both made it. You both lost tight games that could of went either way . I think that is where depth in the line up is a huge factor with tournament teams. RR you guys played great against us. If you told me before the game that we would let up 1 or 2 runs to you guys i would have accepted that because i had faith in my team to put up at least 3. But we just didnt play well at the plate and your infield shut us down. good work .

Tricky- Sorry ?! Not sure what happened

To everyone i met from 365. If i met you thursday night at Dicks than i probably dont remember . But the ones i do remember from the rest of the weekend it was nice to meet all of you .

To my team- You guys played great all day . We were firing on all cylinders better and harder than i ever seen our team work before. We just had a shitty game against a team that knows us very well. That cant happen in tournaments and we let it happen to us. No doubt in my mind that if we bet RR we would have the Founders Cup title. Get some rest and we will re group after the holidays.

365 COMMUNITY , Im signing off for a few months . See you all in Ft. Laud in Feb.

Later!!

Signing off for a while...my ass...kev will be back saturday that's a guarentee...

On a side note...I think the others really learned from the dc tournament when they had to face frosty in there first elim game...losing that game I think in way helped them for this tournament when they had to play MIR in the same round....they put there heads down and came out swinging...

No doubt that helped. As did the thrashing we took in pool play from Riff Raff. We learned to just play sound fundamentals and not all try to be heroes. We avoided giving up the big inning in this go-around, and it served us well.

I don't know your specific situation but I know that refs were supposed to get a certain amount of time off. When the play in games started many of us that were reffing the round of 32 assumed that we would not have to ref until that round was over. I was an inning and a half late for my LIU vs random drunk Minneapolis team game because of this...sorry about that Shane.

Thank goodness you came late to the game otherwise that could have been an even more miserable game. I think that game was the least fun/frustrating game I've ever played.

They did come over and apologize after the game though. I expect to get yelled at reffing, but you better at least know the rules first. Also, if you're team is playing in the field with beers in their hands you should never question a call.

yeah, they were just fucking around at first, but then started arguing a lot. It was crazy that they knew so little about the rules, yet decided to question everything.

No worries ... definitely could have used you at home for that game. Home plate ref just wasn't taking control ... so naturally the MN team walked all over him on the calls.

They needed to make him watch all of Jon Simon's remaining games as ref to learn how to take charge when teams start chirping. ;)

Simon does that even when he's playing... He'll stop the game and say"I need your captains out here NOW" people on the other teams are like wtf? But he's the division head ref so he's allowed.
