A few site updates:

Over the past year:
- http://kickballlegends.com is come a long way over the past year. My main focus has been improved support for blogs and the overall look and feel of the site.
- My attention is now turning towards creating a Schedule Generator and integrating the Circuit into the site.

Tournaments
-I added the Circuit Tournaments to the site. They are now ready for the result of the tournaments to be entered.
-Each Circuit Tournament has its own page, but it doesn't look so hot at the moment. (example: http://kickballlegends.com/SFKO)
- Over the weekend, I'll start on creating the Circuit Records page that McCoy suggested. I will start with those categories. I already have some of those calculations (most RA, most RA, highest margin of victory).
- I've considered adapting the former National Fan Poll to make TST's life easier and collect the Coaches Poll for him. It wouldn't take that much to add that functionality, but I'll wait until I finish the Circuit infrastructure.

Divisions/Leagues
-I added a RSS feed aggregation to the division pages for Divisions that use third-party blogging sites. Those posts can be fed into KL.
-The only division currently Beta testing this for the Fall is WAKA DC Liberty : (http://kickballlegends.com/dcliberty).

Teams
-I finally added support for Team Invites (A kickball-based replacement for Evite). My DC Liberty team is the only team using this at the moment.

I really like the Spreadsheet that we use for the tournaments now. Maybe you can integrate it on to the site for future Circuit Tournaments.

The spreadsheet is a google doc right?

(stupidly enough, google docs is blocked at work for me, which is more than annoying)

Yes it is. Having Google Docs blocked at work is extremely retarded if you ask me.

When making a tournament bracket, is there a generally accepted way of laying it out?

Seeds 1 & 4 on the left, Seeds 2 & 3 on the right?

I've looked at a few different brackets, and there really is no standard. I was thinking of always making the lower seed, the "south" team. This should ensure that 1,2,3,4 are always on the corners.

(I'm making this in HTML first, then in Excel, and then when I have time, in Google Docs)

(I was going to deploy the schedule generators this weekend, but I decided to let the Vegas discussions die down a little)

Ok. I have just deployed the first 4 "Alpha" versions of the KickballLegends schedule generators:
http://kickballlegends.com/sandbox/schegen

These are very simple starts for people to alpha test them to let me know if the schedules make sense (ie, the right times, fields, etc).

Ideas are welcome.

What's next?
-Pool Play Schedule
-Mutliple-division regular season schedule

Bringing or Taking? What would be the rules for equipment? I assume if we're talking about Bringing, it would be an early game team, if we're talking about Taking it would be a late game team.

I've just added the option of creating a 2-pool regular season for those leagues that split teams by field, or by time, or by day.

Next week: Pool Play

Pretty bad ass. This might help me out A LOT in future seasons! Anyway you can expand the schedule generator to accomodate 18 teams though? VA Peninsula may expand in the Spring.

Thanks! Great stuff!

Thanks! This is just the alpha version. The beta version will be integrated with the rest of kickballlegends and will allow all of the teams in the standings to be part of the schedule.

I also have "off-weeks" for holidays built into the core functionality. But I decided I was just going to keep the alpha testing version simple.

Here's my latest project: The Ticker!

http://www.kickballlegends.com/sandbox/ticker

The Tournament Ticker will be featured on WatchKickball.com for DCKO! (Of course, I need to shrink it a little, and I was given a suggestion to make each round it's own color)

Great work here! Will this be something that you plan on updating on tournament day as scores come in?

Love the schedule generator and bracket generators as well. Will definitely be using them for our leagues in the future. Is there any way to include 1 double header a week for say a 5 or 7 team league?

For DCKO since I'll actually be there, I have a web app that allows me to update the scores live. SO on Saturday, it should say the actual score.. assuming I can get around the fields easily enough to update all..... 12 fields. So I expect scores in the later elimination rounds to be less time-delayed.

For the schedule generator, I haven't build in double headers yet. But I'm working with Typods friend out in CA for generating schedules that keep Strength of Schedule in mind for tiered teams.

...I need to find a way to make money of this so I can quit my job and work on this full time! Then you'd see some really cool stuff come out of my lab!
