Hey Regs, have you been to Beach Brewing yet? I keep meaning to get there but somehow always manage to forget when I'm out that way.

Yeah man been there. Their regular beers are just OK. Their Double IPA is getting better. It's basically revision 3 of the beer and they're learning from their mistakes. They are actually releasing a Barrel Aged Imperial Stout this weekend. It's their Seadevil aged in Bourbon Barrels. One of their better beer is actually their Red Ale. It's brewed with Rye Malt. I love Rye =) It's only available on tap or from their tasting room. They don't bottle it.

apparently there is a World of Beers on Mill Ave in Tempe, cause having a place with 20+ beers on tap apparently just isn't enough for the area

HMMM. Never been there. Might have to try it.

One of my favorite beers on draft is Alaskan Amber. I also like Pyramid Snow Cap on draft.

Yeah man. I like Resin a lot (better on tap of course), and the Righteous Rye and Bengali Tiger are solid too. A lot of my friends like their Sweet Action - it's good but I find it a bit boring, and I'd skip Crisp altogether. They just released a summer wheat beer called Apollo that I've yet to try, but I think that's because I've moved on from wheat beer in general.

There is a Can Craft Beer Festival this weekend in Scottsdale. Over 100 beers many that aren't normally available in Arizona.

Yeah I know it has. If you ever see a beer from their named Final Push stop what you're doing and go to that bar. It's their Marshall Zhukov RIS aged in a Kopi Lowak coffee. The Weasel Cat shit coffee =) It's amazing. I had it by Great American Beer Festival a few years ago. They will probably do it again but they only ever made a few time, tap only. Probably the best beer I've ever had.

Awesome. Sounds great.

It's weird, I don't drink coffee (never had a cup in my life), but I love coffee beers. Go figure.

If your ever around St. Louis, Schlafly's is a great microbrewery and they teamed up with a local coffeehouse to make their Khaldi's Coffee Stout. It's one of my all time favorites. Thanks for the great thread fellas. I'm drooling over here thinking about all these great brews.

Ha, funny how that works. One of my faves:
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/45/48326

I've only been able to find it once on tap, so tasty.

It would be fun for the next major tourney if a bunch of us take a few hours out of the standard Bud Light drinking game fest and try to find a local brewpub with a ton of good stuff on tap. Just a thought. Not that there's anything wrong with Bud Light drinking games of course, but now that we know there are a few of us that appreciate the good stuff too, it could be fun.

Finally, a topic where (IMO) east clearly bows to west!

The entire west coast is absolutely littered with glorious breweries. Wine is cool, but there's nothing better than a party bus to 8-10 different breweries, something near and dear to kickballers' hearts.

I'm pretty sure that when Static comes out here to visit, he'll just end up staying.

I'm all in when they announce a Portland event (only about 1,000 breweries there, most of which are awesome).

QFT! Even the dive bars out here usually have at least 1 or 2 craft beers on tap. It's almost unheard of to find a bar hear that doesn't have a beer made in the county.

Damn...I have a lot of reading to catch up on, but this caught my eye. Schlafly has a great portfolio of beer. I predict they will eventually give Blvd a very serious run for their money. So many great beers. Their Imperial Stout is one of the best. One of the few benefits of living in MO is Blvd and Schlafly.

Any of you guys familiar with Tallgrass out of Manhattan, KS? They do tall cans only.

Just got word that Mother's Brewing out of springfield is coming to KC. Haven't had it personally, but a bunch of people seem pretty excited about it.

Big fan of that idea.

Also think everyone should bring a bottle/six pack of a local micro brew to share.

I forget that since like like half the breweries in the state are in the county I live in that there isn't much going on in the rest of the state.

I too tire of the Bud Light drinking games. The only drinking game I like is beer pong and I'd rather play that with Purple Haze than Coors Light.

Don't get me wrong, I'll drink the domestics if they are there. Not an elitist. Just prefer awesome to ok.

I brought 4 six packs to LBC (2 local 2 homebrew) granted I drank all the local on the drive up. Also K4TK had craft beer in the beer tent.

Don't get me wrong, I'll drink the domestics if they are there. Not an elitist. Just prefer awesome to ok.

Yeah, I hear that. The cheap light stuff has its time and place - for example, IPA Flip Cup would be a) dangerous and b) a waste of good beer. I once funneled a Killian's in college, trying to catch up to my roommates. It was like funneling a milk shake.

Good call on the "elitist" thing though. That's why I never refer to myself as a "beer snob," as opposed to a "beer geek," etc.

Portland is the SHIT when it comes to Breweries. There is a 90% chance I will be moving to Washington State if my girl gets accepted at grad school. Portland could become a monthly trip ;-).

all this "quality" beer talk is making me thirsty. I have multiple choices. do I go to Fox and Hound where they have a special this month for a bucket of "craft beers" for $20 or do I go to Hub where they have Odell and Oak Creek (sedona brewery - great AMBER) on draft.

There's 3 other IPA's on that list that I've never had (Sierra Nevada Souther Hemisphere, Dragoons IPA, and Papago Brewery's Double Red Hop Tamale). I like to try new beers whenever I get the chance.

Whenever I travel and go to a bar...the first thing I ask is what's local and good? Asked that in Austin at a gas station and dude told me to try bud light or corona. He didn't appear to be joking either. I need to use beer nerd more often, because sometimes I'll drink Schlitz, PBR, or bud light. (Posted while drinking a bud light lime.)

This just happens to be going on this weekend:

Holy Jesus, that looks good. Tons of awesome stuff. I forgot about Lagunitas Hop Stoopid, I should grab some of that soon.

Funny you mention the limers...I'm actually a big fan during the summer. In fact, it was tradition for me to grab a Bud Light Lime tallboy as soon as I touched down in Vegas for Founders Cup each year.

I was terribly disappointed in the craft beer selection, especially since the city has numerous breweries that top several list websites top 100 of the Southwest list. The only craft beer I remember finding was New Belgium Shift at the meet and greet.
