What is the measurement for releasing behind the mound?

I would think it would have to be more than six inches. The pitcher's stripe moves more than six inches just about every time it gets stepped on. Hell, my shoe is 12" long. If I'm more than half a shoe length from the stripe, I get a violation?

No, because you are a catcher. You better be way more then a half a shoe length from the pitchers stripe!

This is only representing the width of the pitcher release area. It does go all the way back to the boundary of the pitchers circle. So we'll say it's roughly 6' long x 3' wide.
