Can we put in the rule book that the top seed after pool play gets to choose what field they play on in single-elimination?

Or at least be able to play on the best field there.

agree with mccoy & you james. for what i have experienced as a higher seed wanting to choose a field it is b/c the field designated for the game (semi..finals...whatever) is in worse condition then say another field. (ooorrr we didnt want to walk as far and carry our shit!)

top seed in each pool should never have to move fields in pool play. Has not happened in a while for us but it has before.

Top seed on each side of bracket should stay on same elim field until they lose in my opinion

Interesting idea. Some events won't be able to provide this option (DC 2011 for example).

I can see top-seed getting the "best" field for elim, with the tournament organizers deciding the field condition rankings. Giving the top-seed the option to pick the fields might lead to the field-issue from NYC 2009 where the top-seed picked a field that was shaped like a funhouse mirror. It didn't make for good kickball while teams adjusted to the hills, bumps, etc.
...ain't a damn thing changed.

they chose that field because it was the best field for them. I have no issue with the top seed choosing their single elim field. Maybe not for the round of 16, but at least for the semi finals and finals.

All fields that are used in pool play should be on the table for the finals.

Those fields in NYC were crazy. I had to go through a foot and a half trough before fielding bunts. I'm just glad no one twisted/tore anything that day. It was pretty dangerous.

Yeah. We moved from Field #1, where we played all of our pool play games, to Field #5 for our first single-elimination game. Field #5 was horrible and made for a low scoring game.

The field for whatever reason was just not lined up properly. I told Admin when we played IB there and he said they didn't have any additional spray paint to adjust the fields. All good, same for both teams.

The BK fields were the worst I have seen in quite some time. You all will love the new NYC fields though.
