If you put a "ratio rule" into place, you WILL make Meatballs, PA and JKI stronger and more difficult to beat on the field. Try facing our heart of our lineup 4 times/game instead of twice... Are you sure you want to do that???

i think this is mostly true. with exceptions (we also have male exceptions that get put at the bottom of the order), most girls are put at the bottom and then in the field (with exceptions), most are told to field the ball and quickly give it to a guy who will throw it somewhere.

back to the original point, i just think that a team with 20 guys/4 girls playing against a team with 10 guys/4 girls doesn't really make sense. with a ratio, your roster and lineup can be as big as you want them to be, it just makes the overall teams more fair.

i don't care that much about gender equality and all that, just trying to make the games more equitable.

who does that?

Most i have ever seen was 12/4

If it would make you stronger, then 1) good for you, and 2) why aren't you playing with that strategy now?

PLUS....

The # of males we play may have nothing to do with kicking strategy......It may be about getting people a rest on defense. In tournaments playing time management is not by "fair amount" of innings. Its by haveing you team look 100% in the 6th inning of the 8th game

i agree with you, no one has a problem playing the best. the good teams will still be the good teams, we just won't have teams that are artificially better because they happened to get more dudes at a tournament.

yes

i was batting .1000 in elims of sfko11 and sat the final 4...

and your question would make more sense if you said have you ever sat you "9th" best male (if you were doing the 2to1 ratio)

how many times would you say a team lost an event and said

"we ran out of steam"
"had no legs"
"pitcher had no arm left"

???

you hardly ever hear "our batting order was not large enough"

If you're not wearing a calf sleeve, you're just asking for a gross, painful turf burn.

To recap: BK said Meatballs would be better with a ratio than they are now.
I asked if that were the case, how come you don't play that way now.
He replied with "Scoreboard!"
I said Meatballs would have won more championships if you had played your "better" team.
He replied with "na na na na boo boo, stick your head in doo doo."
Realizing I could not compete with that wisdom, I thanked him for his mercy and kindness and have moved on to more suitable discussions.

Can someone clarify this substitution rule for a noob. It's pretty confusing the way it's written. For us folks that play baseball is it similar to that? I get my lineup with as many kickers as I want then I also get a bench from which I can make 2 substitutions from during the game?

Where the hell are all the ladies on this thread?!?!?! Lawd have mercy, every kickball girl on the boards needs to come over here and comment.

1) I am for being treated as an equal on the field. Meaning, I don't want to play a position or be added into a kicking order just because 'I'm a girl'. Since kickball is a coed sport, I understand the fact there has to be 4 girls on the field at all times, but don't just ADD me to add me. If you play 5 girls, it better be because they are the 5 best players for the team, in the order and not just because we have X chromosomes.

2) Oakley and Kevin have it right. I'm pretty sure you would be hard pressed to find girls playing the Circuit that complain about playing time or kicking orders regarding guys. Girls on Circuit teams are there to win first, party later. And as much as it kills me to say, yes, men are faster and stronger than women [ugh I just died a little], so adding another girl to the kicking order usually is counter productive. Key word being usually. I can't speak for 'WAKA girls', but usually they are just out there to play kickball with their hair straightened and just want to be noticed. Maybe that's why they want to kick more and complain? IDK, but most of them aren't there to score on the field.

3) Like any coed sport, good/great girls will make or break a team. Traveling for kickball sounded crazy to me, until I found a great group of people I enjoyed hanging out with. I've been on teams where the girls were just expected to stand there and not make a mistake, which was horrible. All of the elite teams in the circuit value their girls on the field and in the kicking order. This is probably a reason girls choose to stay on their teams and travel. If all else fails, just try to hook a girl up with one of the single studs on the team, seems to work for most. ;)

4) I like the substitution rule, if only for an injury substitution.

I hope more girls come over here and post, too much of a boys club if you ask me ;)

I like it because all of my 6 females have 1 thing about them that they are better than the other 5 at. And if the situation calls for it it is nice to have the option to make the change. Not just to sub to get someone in the game. However, it is nice to do that sometimes if the person sitting the current game from the start will be starting the next game. This gives them an inning and at bat to get loose again. Loose for kickball that is
