This isn't that dissimilar to how we play in Atlanta (GoKickball). Fouls and strikes combine for one category and 4 total equals an out. Though....the strike zone is actually WIDER than the current circuit one, but also SHORTER (about 6 inches instead of a foot).

As mentioned before...just one of these rules couldn't pass. It would have to be both or neither. I'm personally against it, but it's not that outside the box.

I dont mind the fouls also counting as strikes. (if you dont have strikes on you already)

FACKA does this. your first two fouls also count as strikes, then two more fouls and you're out.

Or one more strike (swinging, or watching) is an out.

The strike zone should not change.

well im sure you all already know that i like how it is. Size of zone, plate and all current rules.

Just read this thread and saw some ideas about the foul/strike compared to softball. IMO its not the same thing. Its not like softball players are foul tipping it off and shanking them. Most foul ballS in softball are from hard hit pulls or pushes of the swing, which is comparable to trying to kick away long down the line and foul. In kickball the speed, movement and rubber ball creates fouls . Unlike softball where if you foul it back or shank it you either are drunk, took a bad swing or you just stink. If foul balls were common the catcher wouldnt stand behind the batter with zero protection. I have also played in a softball leaugue where that if you swing and miss you are out regardless of the count.
We all try to compare rules of kickball to other games but what we need to all realize is that circuit kickball has great rules and thats what make it its own game and so unique .I think the base of the game we have now as far as innings, rosters, strikes, balls, fouls and the basics are spot on.

Not in favor of this rule change.

Changing rules just for the sake of doing something different is not the way to go about improving the game. There's nothing wrong with the size of the strike zone. There's nothing wrong with the ratio of balls/strikes/fouls.

If it's not broke, why fix it?

We play with just the plate at a strike zone and two strikes of any kind (including a foul) is an out. Having played that way for years, as devils advocate, it seems you arent expecting your skilled pitchers to be that skilled. Sure they can whip it in there, but there is no risk/reward for doing so i.e. the need to be accurate. We do play the same 3 balls or 2 strikes count in our normal league play and in premium league. Differences are in regular, three balls you get a tee (since its civil pitch), whereas premium is open pitch and you are giving up walks if you arent getting it over the plate. just a different philosophy i guess.
