[National Tour 2012] Final Standings

Postby admin » September 22nd, 2012, 7:21 pm

The Circuit's National Tour Official Standings have been updated after the Arizona Kickball Open came to an end this past weekend. Not all teams competing in Circuit Events are considered part of The Circuit. Teams must officially register to become part of The Circuit to be scored. Teams that attend a Circuit Event have 30 days to register to claim their Circuit Points. The Official Standings are used to determine the National Tour Champion and to establish seeding for the Circuit Cup Championship. The Circuit is presented by Complete Discovery Source.

If this will be the rankings for CCC, will it be a "snake seeding" to place these rankings in the pools? If so, does that mean we get to be in the same pool as panik? :D

If I'm doing it correctly, these would be the pools:

Pool A: Sitch, LIU, Lights Out, Booty, Neg Reinforcement

Pool B: NYSH, Whiskey, Dragon Army, I'd Hit It, Gorilla Juiceheads

Pool C: OSC, Sofa. Shockwave, Rockstar, El Guapo

Pool D: Flying V, JKI Deep, Deja Vu, Legit, We'll spot 10

Pool E: Fully Loaded, Cobra Kai, Pounders, mms, Cleverly Disguised

Pool F: Panik, Meatballs, SoCal Riot, Superdudes, Stl Finest, Danny Balls
2x CCC Champs '11 '12
2x SFKO Champs '11 '12
2x DCKO Champs '11 '12

Thanks for doing that legwork BK. Crazy pools!

PS- SoCal Riot won't be making CCC.

What happens if total teams are 32/33, which it looks like it will be.

If we go to 7 pools it changes things up a good bit.

I love how our wild card spot got us a #19 seed last year and a tournament win gets us a #19 seed this year.

Last time I talked to the captain of Gorilla Juice Heads, he indicated that they weren't going to be able to make New Orleans due to a lack of players who can go.

That was a couple months ago, but unless things have changed, they will not be there. If SoCal Riot is out as well, then that brings the total to 29 teams.

Assuming everyone else makes it to NOLA, then for 29 teams, you'd probably end up with 1 pool of 5 teams & 4 pools of 6 teams.

If you do snake seeding, then the pools will probably look like either one of these two options:

Pool A
Situation *** Sofa King Good *** Whiskey Richard *** Legit *** Rockstar Lifestyle

Pool B
NY Shower Hammers *** JKI Deep *** Lock It Up! *** Mushroom Stampers *** I’d Hit It *** Oh Danny Balls

Pool C
OSC *** Cobra Kai *** Lights Out! *** Superdudes *** Surrender The Booty *** STL Finest

Pool D
Flying V *** Meatballs *** Dragon Army *** Peninsula Pounders *** Negative Reinforcement *** Cleverly Disguised As Adults

Pool E
Fully Loaded *** Panik Attack *** Shockwave *** Deja Vu *** El Guapo *** We’ll Spot You 10

----- OR Alternately -----

Pool A
Situation *** Sofa King Good *** Whiskey Richard *** Legit *** Rockstar Lifestyle *** Oh Danny Balls

Pool B
NY Shower Hammers *** JKI Deep *** Lock It Up! *** Mushroom Stampers *** I’d Hit It *** STL Finest

Pool C
OSC *** Cobra Kai *** Lights Out! *** Superdudes *** Surrender The Booty *** Cleverly Disguised As Adults

Pool D
Flying V *** Meatballs *** Dragon Army *** Peninsula Pounders *** Negative Reinforcement *** We’ll Spot You 10

Pool E
Fully Loaded *** Panik Attack *** Shockwave *** Deja Vu *** El Guapo

Top 16 overall or top 3 in each pool plus 1 'wild card' advance??

If any other teams from VBKO, AKO (Bank and WineMixers, looking at you two) or BKO sign up in the next few weeks, then of course the pools will be a bit different.

I would guess that at least 2 or 3 more of these teams end up not showing up so it is probably pretty pointless right now to try and guess what the pools will be

it really sucks that some of the "competitve" teams continue to choose founders cup over circuit cup. i guess it is an easier 10K (although vegas is expensive as SHIT for east coasters and we only ended up breaking even last year on that one) but I still just don't get that. (Yes I'm talking to you Captain Relax lol)

I think there were some rumblings of Circuit Cup in Orlando next year? Real bad idea in my opinion gotta keep the thing centrally located to attract the most teams. Texas/New Orleans, maybe even Chicago although might be playing in snow

Yeah, man. I'm going to try to make this NO trip as affordable as possible, but no matter how you spin it it's a pretty spendy trip.

As long as FC is in Vegas, though, all of the WC teams will continue to go. It's just too easy for us not to. Even with the $750 registration it's still super-affordable for us.

Regarding Orlando, I actually like it. It's a more affordable destination than New Orleans (although probably not as much fun), and it can double as a big Disney trip.

Another thing that makes it hard is the time proximity to the holidays. A lot of us travel for the holidays, which is already expensive, and while I personally am down to do both, I understand people's reluctance to be financially irresponsible.

In any event, I've always wanted to go to New Orleans, and I absolutely can't wait!

I'm sure the one person from that team who is on this board will pass your message along to the people who backed out on the team preventing them from going to CC.

I don't think location is a factor so much as it's a cost. Orlando seems to have fairly reasonable flights and a lot of teams within a reasonable driving distance for a weekend. I think a lot more people would go to CCC, or any tourney, if they knew they could get there and back for a reasonable cost.

As far as FC goes, its crazy expensive now and I'm not sure why half the teams go.

Haha come on Flades! As far as the rationale goes, FC was where we got our first competitive experience, WAKA has been good to us, we've always had an AWESOME time going, and a few of our players work for WAKA and one of them runs FC. Sure Vegas is expensive but it gives us something to look forward to all year & a reason to play. Without Founder's Cup our WAKA league would be pointless to play in and we'd probably disband pretty quickly.

I think the combo of timing (1 month after Vegas) & probably even more so the day (Sunday tournament), not everyone has a holiday on Monday are probably why we ended up not getting enough.

With that said a few of us will be in NOLA so you can scold me in person! Looking at these potential pools are exciting, no easy games, this tournament is going to be insane!!!

I like to bash WAKA as much as the next guy but I play in a ton of their leagues, have made some great friends though WAKA and have a ton of awesome memories from every Founders Cup Ive been to.

The circuit may be more competitive but the overall organization and general experience of FC is still amazing. I love playing circuit tourneys but none of them have the same all encompassing experience and excitement of FC IMO.

I wish FC used circuit rules and ball....

You can almost guarantee it will be after Oct. 1st since teams have until then to register their players. I won't be surprised if (just like last year) after the deadline passes, some teams end up not being able to field a team.

I hope that isn't the case though!

Spoke to one of the Gorilla Juice Heads players (their lead-off guy actually) earlier tonight. He said that they weren't going to be in New Orleans (people couldn't commit to travel this year), but that they are planning to travel to a couple tournaments next year. I will see their captain at Delray Beach Kickball tomorrow night and will get confirmation from him then but if their leadoff guy is saying they aren't going, I'm pretty certain that's the case.

Did they know they didn't have to register? I don't see them making it to New Orleans.

2 highlights from our gsme against them. In the first inning I was up to kick and took two pitches. I then hear the left center fielder yell "kick the f@ckin ball Larry Bird". Next pitch was a two run triple between him and the left fielder. After the third inning when the game was called because the score was 16-0 they told us they normally play on dirt and if we played them on dirt they'd probably win by 12 runs.

When watching their game against KNS (I think) Their catcher was giving the kickers the business about bunting. Coach moved him to the outfield after another bunter got on. He kept on and the next batter kicked one over his head in the OF. Coach promptly moved him back to Catcher.

Check the standings page - we are striking out teams who have informed us they are backing out. http://www.kickball365.com/thecircuit/standings/

Yes, WCs are the last placed teams. Check the Structure Document for details on other limits that are placed against them. http://bit.ly/TheCircuit2012

let's hope so, if not 28-29 teams gets a lot more messy
As the official spokesman for Dematas' status as a "semi-retired" player, please direct all questions on the subject to me.

-BK- wrote:If this will be the rankings for CCC, will it be a "snake seeding" to place these rankings in the pools? If so, does that mean we get to be in the same pool as panik? :D

If I'm doing it correctly, these would be the pools:

Pool A: Sitch, LIU, Lights Out, Neg Reinforcement, El Guapo

Pool B: NYSH, Whiskey, Dragon Army, Booty, WSY10

Pool C: OSC, Sofa, Shockwave, J Cru, Clevery Disguised

Pool D: Flying V, JKI Deep, Deja Vu, Rockstar Lifestyle, Everyday Ent.

Pool E: Fully Loaded, Cobra Kai, Pounders, Legit, STL/ODB

Pool F: Panik, Meatballs, Superdudes, MMS, ODB/STL

Fixed.

So is the last set of teams Pool F or the Final 4 (+1)?

What is the format for seeding? Wouldn't we have Oh Danny Balls/STL Finest in our pool?

Pool F certainly looks like the Pool of Death to me.

I'm curious to know how teams will advance to the elimination rounds:
- will it be top 16 overall
or
- top 2 teams from each pool and 4 wild cards?

If it is the latter, would there be play-in games for the 4 wild card spots or will it just be based on best record coming out of pool play (after top 2 teams)?

If it is six pools of 5 (which would make sense at this point), Kolanko's post above would be accurate using a normal 6-pool snake.

The traditional pool of death (last pool) really would be the pool of death. Oh Danny's poor balls.

Still TBD... announcement coming 10/9 in the late afternoon.

What I can share is this:
- We will be using Pools of 5/6
- 10 Fields
- Final Four will be played on fields not used during the day (outfield of softball fields)
- We will be playing on GRASS (No TURF)
- We will be starting at 9am
- Everyone still gets 4 games
- We will be live streaming the entire day on WatchKickball.com and through a few "Player" & "Referee" Cameras with our new partner (not announced yet)

The WCs will be ranked ODB and then STL Finest and placed in the #1 Seed & #2 Seed Pools
The Top 16 overall will advance using the same formula we've used all year.

This is all tentative. If another team drops OR if another team gets added things may change.
