Kickball365 survey

Postby ascohen » August 8th, 2012, 8:26 am

Greetings all, thank you for taking the time to read this.

My name is Adam Cohen, I am a PhD student at Texas A&M in the field of sport management. The powers that be at Kickball365 have been kind enough to collaborate with me on one of my research projects. To briefly summarize, my main purpose of this project is to be able to quantify the impact and benefits of participation in grassroots, community sports (such as kickball). My hope is to be able to show that non-traditional sports have a need and a place in the schools and communities in the same fashion as traditional sports.

Your participation in the linked survey (http://bit.ly/KickballSurvey2012) is completely voluntary… But it would be greatly appreciated and valued! In addition to your responses helping Kickball365 improve its long-term mission and outreach of the sport, completion of this survey will make you eligible to win an Official Kickball365 Circuit Kickball, a Kickball365 Sticker or a personal invite to be on the Official October Podcast of Kickball365's "First 2 Third"

You can find the survey at: http://bit.ly/KickballSurvey2012
Completion will be due by September 1st in order to be eligible to win one of the above prizes. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me at ascohen@hlkn.tamu.edu

Once again, thank you for your time!

If I was a corrupt academic researcher, you'd currently be the front runner.

PS: Thanks for filling it out!

This got me kinda thinking, would the rules have to be adjusted if the sport was not co-ed?

done, but kind of odd that half the questions are standard marketing questions rather than about kickball

Thanks again for the responses.

While my focus is on the sociology side of sports, marketing is certainly a large aspect of the sport management field. With community and grassroot sports becoming more popular every year, gaining demographic and marketing information can hopefully be useful for K365 toward their promotion efforts and to achieve advertising and sponsorship.

Yeah, this should be obvious to most.

It's obvious why it would be advantageous for K365 to want that info I just wasn't sure what relevancy it have to a PhD thesis. Then again, I work at NASA so that's not the type of PhD work I'm familiar with.

Thanks to everyone that has responded! Hope you don't mind one more bump from me in an effort to try to get a few more surveys filled out. Please feel free to forward this to any teammates that you think could help.

Once again, appreciate you taking the time.
