We're looking better. Got the guys we need. Sitting on 3 girls right now... finding out about the 4th and 5th later today hopefully.

It's amazing what a little guilt and a lot of beer can do to convince teammates to make an 11 hour drive to Georgia!

the entirety of Third String All-Starts drove to SFKO 10 from vb. it's somewhere around 15 hours one way. compared to that, driving to ATL will be a cake walk.

Agreed. Ash/Jay/I rode together to SFKO this year. It was no big deal...at all...

I won't even consider flying unless the drive is more than 12 hours. Rebecca and I drive to Florida 2-3x per year for SFKO and to visit her parents. The coolest parts about driving are stopping at dive southern restaurants on the way, buying illegal fireworks in South Carolina, and truck stop hookers.
If I say mean things to you and it hurts your feelings, f#ck you.

I hear ya. I drove to SoFla this year from DC... not too bad really.

Regarding the teams coming... has anyone heard why Cobra Kai isn't coming to this tourney? It's practically in their back yard!

At this point, I would be happy with 10 teams in the tournament. If we were able to get to 12, that would be spectacular, but I think 15 is a little bit unrealistic.

How would the pools (in terms of number of teams in each) would this tournament look like with 9-12 teams.

We're planning to handle GKO like we do for DC/K365 -- World Cup style. If we have 12 teams, that means either 3 pools of 4 or 2 pools of 6. We'd like to get teams 4 pool play games if that's feasible.

With 2 pools of 6: Drop the top 4 seeds in (1 and 4 in pool A, 2 and 3 in pool B), then assign rest of pool by geography.
With 3 pools of 4: Drop the top 3 seeds in, then assign the rest by geography. Maybe have a team play a 4th out of pool game

Regional bins (along with likely seed) will be used and selected on Friday night at the Meet & Greet.

Looks like the 8th team was unexpected from ga. That means dsca and reply-all will put us at 10 teams for sure. DC avail would make 11. Now we need to work on a12th...

When does registration close for this tournament?
"If your life revolves that much around kickball, then you've got issues."
The Urban Dictionary's definition of Kickball - "Kickball is a game of passion, of tears, of blood. It is the single greatest game ever conceived, besting even that of a good game of dodgeball."

Fixed.

I didn't realize that the only way to play "more kickball" was in pool play. 1 pool of 12 would make it the best tournament ever! :-)

If you say so.

8 players from M2S in SFKO are on the team... not exactly copyright infringement. I just feel bad using the name without Stefan and Troy. We'll miss them.

Just noticing that when other areas form "availables" squads they seem to pick out different names. With DC-area squads it's always "M2S."

I just wanted to go as iB. But we're adding some non-iB people so the only other shirts a bunch of us have is M2S ones.

Any way to get a possible preview of the pools? What's the set up? Thoughts on how you're seeding it?
