It's been 3 days since the MEATBALLS were crowned 3-peat champions of the Kickball365 Open. How did the panel rank the teams after "all of the questions have been answered?"

http://www.kickball365.com/thecircuit/d ... o-rankings

If you don't agree, don't forget to vote in the Fan Poll. Also feel free to share the link to your rankings.

(And since people will ask.. the July 2012 Circuit Poll will be out soon)

No mention of Panik's 7-0 perfect game against Situation at the end of pool play in either teams' write up? Sounds like the "experts" continue with their anti-Panik bias.

I think vaulting the Situation all the way to #2 is a stretch. I like them, always thought they were getting a bad rap, but let's be honest, 7 times out of 10, Panik wins that game. Glad to see they are getting some respect though.

Also glad to see that Limited Edition was recognized on the poll as well. For their first tourney and only having 7 guys / 5 girls, they did well for their first circuit tourney. They just ran out of gas and need to get some offense.

I agree with you. There's some disagreement on how to treat the Post-tournament poll. Some think it should be based on Saturday's performance. Some think it should should be an overall body of work. Some think we shouldn't do a Post poll, and instead just update the total Circuit poll.

However I think the disagreements is what makes the poll interesting.

Multiple panel members had Panik Attack at #2 or #3. Where would you have ranked you guys?

Expert poll is starting to be ridiculous. Deja Vu above NYSH? A final 8 appearance in one tourney vaults you ahead of a team with two circuit championships?

If this is suppose to be a Power Poll from DC and DC only (correct me if I'm wrong)how do you justify being #2? #3 I can see but 2? Doesn't matter about your 7-0 win in Pool Play. Elimination is what matters the most.

It's not a power poll, this was a post tournament poll. Deja vu went 4-0 in pool play and beat NYSH, which is probably why they are ahead of them. I would be surprised to see them ahead of them in the actual power poll.

It's a poll about what happened in DC, not the poll about the general state of the circuit.

Whats suspect about having a higher post-tournament ranking after a 6-3 head to head win?

Its not an overall Circuit ranking. I seriously doubt experts would rank DJV ahead of NYSH if that was the case.

I can see Sitch being ranked #2 in this poll. Not sure how NYSH are at #6 going 3-3? Pool play results will probably matter more when the National Power Poll comes out. I hope. Rankings need to be based on results & the numbers. Seems like people are still ranking on emotion and where they feel a team should be rather than what they've earned. The National Circuit Power Poll should be interesting.

Yea, I still don't think I understand the purpose of this pool. Shouldn't all teams be ranked on how far they made it in the tournament? For example, you make it to the final 8, but not the final 4, you'd expect to be ranked 5-8, correct?

It just doesn't seem to me that all the voters are voting based on the same criteria for this poll.

I have no idea what the purpose of the post-tourney poll is, but when I do my fan ranking I am only ranking where I think teams fell in this tournament. I don't take any prior results into account.

What the heck is the point of making this a POLL if all we're doing is ranking teams out in the order they finished in a one day tournament??? Anyone with the score results can see that themselves. I like the conjecture, don't get me wrong, but I think these post-tourney polls should reflect how we would rank these teams again if they had the same tournament the following week...at least that's how I will complete it.

as far as i'm concerned, the results are:

1. winner
2. runner up
3. everyone else
ok...
1. winner
2. runner-up
3-4. semifinalists
5-8. quarterfinalists
9-16. teams that made it out of pool play
17-24. esprit de corps

I dunno, I look at it like "Who was the best team on that specific day," and how far you made it doesn't necessarily reflect that. The left side of the bracket in elims looked really heavy, so wins on that side would probably hold more weight (for me). MB, Lights Out, LIU, NYSH and OSC were all on one side. I'd ASSume that NYSH's 2-0 win over LIU is better than Foot Snipers' OT win over J-Cru (although I didn't watch that game). The score sheet doesn't say it all in some cases.

In the end, it's still subjective, and people are going to bitch no matter what. Everyone feels disrespected, yada yada yada. For those looking at this as "Current Circuit Rankings," stop it.

Perhaps that's how you see it. Really, only #1 is cut-and-dry. You can make an argument that either/both semifinalists should be ranked ahead of the runner up. How far you advance only tells part of the story (granted, a significant part) of how your team played on the day relative to others.

No worries. It happens.

I just looked at the spreadsheet too. I'm not sure why the Situation/LE game and the FS/JCru gave are marked as COT finals. Neither game went into extra innings.

I think vaulting the Situation all the way to #2 is a stretch. I like them, always thought they were getting a bad rap, but let's be honest, 7 times out of 10, Panik wins that game. Glad to see they are getting some respect though.

Quite a statement from an "impartial" ref from our area.

agree with this. it is entertaining to see the difference in where the teams were ranked pre-tourney and then post-tourney.

are people really complaining about this? people complain about the boards being boring and then when something that generates conversation and discussion is done, people complain about that.

Well you see Wilson, The experts need to take into account that each and every team was improperly seeded, jobbed by the refs, had the opposing catcher encroach all day, was forced to play on the only field with wind and then wound up on the hard side of the bracket, not to mention their best player getting hurt and their #2 having to miss due to a wedding. Clearly the experts didn't take this into account and are therefore blowing it here.

How does anyone look at this and think its a national poll. Fully Loaded, JKI, Flying V, Sofa are not even listed. Did they magically drop off because they weren't there? Can people take 3 seconds to think before they post. And trey, I would have Panik at #4. You lost in the final 4 and you lost to the weaker of the two finals teams. When the power poll comes out I would have Panik at 2 just like I did after the last power poll. Just stop whining for 1 day please.

I can see the confusion. After all - this is the first time the Panel has done a Post-Tournament Poll the Wednesday after a tournament.

Trey is right. I should disband the He-Man Panik Haters Club and form a new panel.

Well said. Also, you owe me $20. Send a check and put in the memo line any bet on a roulette wheel and I'll put that bet down. Hopefully this turns into a $700 win!
