Mj aka STU(MB 1B/leadoff)

Sure hands at 1b. 3/3 tossing out runners attempting to go 1st to 3rd in Dcko.

16/21 To lead of games this circuit year with a perfect 8/8 in Dcko.

I definitely agree that MJ should be in the discussion. However, with this award it will probably be a lot of people voting for their teammates. Maybe, you can only vote for non teammates?

I hear you. It's tough to vote as well because you might only play against a certain team/player a few times over the course of the year, which makes it hard to vote.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order, and not voting for teammates, I would nominate:

MJ (Meatballs)
Corey Holland (Meatballs)
Ricky (NYSH)
Joe (OSC)
Dan (Panik Attack)
Troy (Flying V)

Corey (Meatballs) - Best pitcher in the country and has really improved his offense.

Joe (OSC) - Automatic as a leadoff and one of the best Catchers in the country (even when he doesn't encroach).

Skalocky (LIU) - Most versatile player in kickball. Can play Pitcher, Charger, Catcher, and 1B at a very high level. Also an amazing kicker.
If I say mean things to you and it hurts your feelings, f#ck you.

I think it should be a player that clearly makes their team better and without them the team would have a huge hole. With that said my votes are:

McCoy/Tyler - Panik, McCoy is a great leader and underrated player. His kickball IQ rivals anyone. Tyler is not only one of the top catchers out there but is also money at lead off.

Sajac/Skalocky - LIU, Sajac has been in the discussion of best chargers for years now. Great lead off and can also kick bombs. Skalocky can play any position on the field at an above average level. Kicks line drives, bombs, bunts 3rd and bunts 1st.

Mach 3 - Shockwave, First time I saw him play was Saturday. He is the fastest guy I've ever seen on a kickball field. Not only quick to the ball at catcher but a cannon of an arm. On the other end as long as his bunt isn't directly at someone he's on base.

Pat - OSC, Arguably the best charger out there. His chest pass is harder than most can throw overhand. I don't think anyone on OSC could step in and play close to as well at charger.

Jon Simon - JKID, Has he ever dropped a ball at first base? I've been watching Simon make acrobatic, leg split catches for years now. Throw the ball within 8ft of 1st base and it's caught, great to have that as a target.

Although I think MJ is one of the best all around players in the Circuit I feel like Meatballs are so deep that his spot could be covered if he couldn't make a tournament. Meatballs have what 8 former lead off kickers in the lineup?

decent amount of former leadoffs in the lineup but MJ is better at batting 1 than the others. Warley used to be a solid lead off for us and did nothing wrong to be removed from 1 but his leg was needed. Dp,Bk,Flades,Hazle Jarrett,Jimmy all have led off in tournaments at some point since 2006 but they just are not in the same class as MJ. 8/8 to lead off games in a major event is ridic.

But yes, his spot could be covered if he missed an event with someone that should be able to go 6/8 or better.

I'm going to pull the home team card and nominate one of my own, but I think his stats will back up the nomination.

Russell Kramer (1B)- Flying V

Cleanup kicker who has batted 4th all season, and doesn't bunt. (24/33) for a .727 kicking average on the year. At one point this season he had a 14 at bat kick streak (LSKO/JKO). One of the best kickers (if not the best) in the country and the glue to our team. He didn't attend SFKO (we lost Elite 8) but was at LSKO (Final 4), JKO (Final 4) and GKO (Champions). He's easily our most valuable player. He's also writes some of the best motivational team e-mails I've ever read.

I agree with AdRock on the Pat nomination. We've played OSC 3 times this year, and I continue to be incredibly impressed each time at some of the plays he makes... Also agree with the nominations of Joe. That kick pass he had this weekend was nasty. And if it had been caught on tape, could have at least been in the "Best Play" discussion.

I think JC from Panik should be nominated as well. Very few players can have the overall impact on a game like he can. When he's really dealing, he imposes his will on the opponents. He's also got one of the strongest left legs in the country.

To me it's Corey Holland and it should have been last year too. He's the most dominant player, next to Bobby Flader, at his given position... and he can do everything on offense (bunt to leadoff/kick to drive in runs). He's the cleanup hitter and the ace of our team (though MK would be the ace of 99% of all other teams). The MVP should go to the best all-around player on the Circuit.

Well if we are sucking our own players, I'm going with Bellman. Whiskey Richard is 9-3-1 when he is in attendance and 1-7 without him. I done think there is a another team who lives and dies depending on one person.

Russ is a great kicker. Definitely one of the best. However, to be considered the MVP of the Circuit, you need to be one of the best on both sides of the ball. He's a solid 1B, but probably not in the Top 10-15 from what I've seen.

This list shouldn't be as long as y'all are making it. Everyone wants to nominate someone from their team just to get them recognition. If your player really was one of the best, someone from another team would have already nominated him. This list is short and will be won by one of the following players who are dominant on both sides of the ball:

Corey (MB)
Joe (OSC)
Dan (PA)
Skalocky (LIU)

There are a lot of players that are dominant on one side of the ball and pretty good on the other (Flades, Pat, Russ, etc.) but this award really should be for a guy that dominates on defense and kicks in the Top 6 of their team on offense.
If I say mean things to you and it hurts your feelings, f#ck you.

You might be on to something here. Corey has definitely stepped up his offense to go along with his already stellar pitching credentials.

Here's my full list (1 player/team MAX):

Corey Holland- Meatballs (See above)
Russell Kramer- Flying V (Best pure kicker in the country)
Tyler Rives- Panik Attack (Top leadoff in the country, lockdown catcher)
Kellen Miller- Cobra Kai (Solid Pitcher/#4 kicker on the team)
Keith- JKI (Versatile player on D, biggest leg on The Circuit)
Joe Spofford- OSC (Versatile defensive catcher, strong kickball knowledge, Great Leadoff)
Nicholas Arana- Fully Loaded (Under rated on both sides of the ball. One of the best Leadoffs and a very fundamentally sound catcher)

Everyone sucking their own players makes this pretty silly.

Who's better than him all around? Would love to hear it...

And we all know how good Flades is, but you ever see him on Riff Raff?

Yea... I played a few waka seasons against him. What's your point? :D

I told Flades that I loved watching him playing in Vegas, not sure what year it was, Riff Raff lost. He actually had to work when he played with them.

Agreed Flades is the best charger in the country

If DP can step in and basically do the same thing, that make DP one of the best strikers in the country too? And if Meatballs can win without you catching, what does that mean?

We have a kicker (sduncan on the boards) who I think is in the same discussion with Keith for biggest leg in the circuit. He's kicked multiple homeruns for both us and the Pounders.

This is really tough to decide for many reasons. I have never played against the best pure kicker in the country listed above.

Dont even consider a MB and that will make things easier. We play team kb.

As far as female category thats a different story of what my opinion is

Good point Dematas.

Dp stepped up and caught for BK in sfko and won. He is as good as a charger/catcher/top line up bunter you can get. And not a dumb ass base runner like a lot of the soccer playing lead offs out there.

You have some of the best, yes. Corey def makes some of you look a lot better than you are, that's for damn sure.

I'd have to vote for JKID Keith. Nearly impossible to bunt off, huge leg, can kick line drives, best fielding pitcher in the country.

Duncan can't kick like Keith, and neither can kick like JJ from Panik.

Most Valuable = W/O this person, their team is not likely to win (as much).

Corey (Meatballs) - Most difficult pitcher to bunt off of on turf.
Flades (Meatballs) - Makes 2 or 3 plays a game that no one else can make.
Joe (OSC) - I do not think there is a better 2-way player in kickball. Automatic at leading off and at the top of the catcher list. Did anyone see the kick-out vs. Pounders this weekend? I shook my head for the Pounders, it was unfair.)

I think it should go to the BEST player, not the player without whom the team wouldn't win as much. Pretty sure MEATBALLS would still win without their top guys, but it certainly doesn't mean they're not the best.

"Most Valuable Player" discussions often split into two directions.

The best I've seen in Circuit play this year are:

Corey (MB) - he's operating at the next level. Not only is he one of the hardest throwers, but he locates his pitches on either side of the strike zone. Tough to get the contact you want off of this guy.

Flades (MB) and Pat (OSC) - Charger is such an important position, and I've seen both make plays that no one else can make. MB and OSC have the luxury of shutting down opponents with these two that other teams just don't have.

AdRock (LIU) - Played against LIU twice this year, and AdRock had very strong games. Made great plays with spin throws at catcher and had well executed bunts.

I think the MVP award should be given to a player who has the ability to take his team way further than they would go without them - or - a player that is a major component to a team that advances far in every event with the help of his play.
