Clearly, the way you play all the same players at the same positions that KA does, the way you keep tabs on the lineup and make the appropriate intentional walks the way KA does, the way orders and instructions and defensive alignments are barked out the way KA does, the way timeouts are called over and over and over and over again when kicking/bunting situationally the way KA does, the way your shirts are light blue instead of leaf green... oh, wait, that's an actual difference in the teams. I finally found it. You're right! This team is completely different, you can tell by the shirts! :P

You act as if we are different people playing the game. The point is you will never not face a fully staffed KA team in a division tourney because we clarify our teams availability with everyone PRIOR to the season.

When we made this an actually team it was to play but with the understanding that if we lose, then so what we are playing to have fun and to play, but winning the division tourney wasn't a priority to have a team.

You like to sound so smart and knowledgeable on these boards, so why don't you post your records for getting on base with me pitching? You know, since if I don't make a difference if I was at the game or not. |(

Really? Wow! Well, may I be the first to wish you a happy retirement. We'll miss you out on the Dominion fields. ;)

We'll see, believe me you won't be beating KA in the Spring.

As much as I would love to continue to talk on the boards, I got a raise and don't have time to stay on top of posting anymore. Have fun this off season, good luck to all those still playing and I will see you in the spring time on the fields and the boards. ;)

You guys played with 9 or 10 people in the Fall '06 Dominion Finals and then cheated to help secure a win.

Wrong, I already have. My first division tourney with FWB was played and our finals were against a KA team that fielded 5 guys and 5 girls. Not hardly "fully staffed." You beat us 3-0, with Bill impressively pulling double-duty as catcher and Ref

-KA- wrote:When we made this an actually team it was to play but with the understanding that if we lose, then so what we are playing to have fun and to play, but winning the division tourney wasn't a priority to have a team.
Whatever everyone's reason for not showing up is irrelevant. No offense to anyone, but I'd say Shaun and Kurstin are more important (or at least as important) to our team than you and Eddie are to KA. KA's core infield (P, C, 3B) was there... ours wasn't, and we still won. However you set up the team to be, the team we played against cared about winning and was trying their best to win.

I believe I am 0-3 against you (as KA), and 0-5 against you if you include The Others (the other fun fun fun team), and I haven't faced you in a year. Not that you would have been pitching against us in the finals, anyway... not with Ever AND Wilner there. Regardless, as of a year ago, I was also 0-for against Wilner and Ever, too, but this year in games against KA/SK, I am 5 for 7 (in reality I am 6 for 7--even Wilner admitted I was safe by a mile leading off the 5th inning in the spring finals, and judging by how quiet your team was when that call was made, I'm betting you all agree) with 4 RKI. A lot can change in a year, my friend.

Blah Blah Blah, what I heard is you are 0-5 against me. Who ended the regular season game against you all? ME. We have discovered that your team doesn't do well against me as a pitcher as a whole and it would have been me pitching if I were there turd boy. :P

A year is a long time away, and I will look forward to delivering that ass whipping to you. Sorry to say, but AGAIN you have never beat KA, never beat me on any team EVER. I think over the years your record against me is like what, 0-20?

It was pitch black and we'd already worn out your other pitcher. You pitched one inning and still almost lost the game.

You can call the team what you want, but we beat the team that consists of ALL the same players and strategies as KA. Hide under a different name if you want, but we all know who got beat out there on Saturday.

And I think "my team" (when I'm present) is 0-4 against your team (when you are present). 0-6 if you want to count the Turtleheads as "my team." (I'd like to see your record on a team if you had the guts to sign up randomly in a small division, but you don't, so I won't get the satisfaction).

Alas, I hope you rest up and get healthy over the loooong winter, old timer. Quit smoking crack and go to speed camp with Gregg. We want you and your team 100% and with no excuses when we meet again. ;)

I heard Jimmybeans is holding a speed camp in FL this winter. He guarantees you'll be running a 4.3 or better by the end of camp....although you still won't be as fast as he is.

Nah, that was one FWB's idea to try to beat us after five years, Frobro. Do you not remember me yelling how ridiculous you all were for trying to continue to play and get someone hurt? Well that's what pissed me off, brought me to the mound, ended the game and shut you all up for the night. Enjoy your win, it only took five years, and not against our best. See you next year.  :P 8) :hai:

That and KA(Aaron) wasn't there. Anyone else missing?
Aaron and Eddie weren't there for KA, and Shaun (Charger/clean-up kicker) and Kurstin (co-ace and #5 kicker) were not there for FWB. Basically, nobody won or lost because of who wasn't there. Mallory (FWB Catcher) was an absolute beast in the finals, and Troy pitched great.

Whoa...there's another "pitcher" named "Troy"? He doesn't deserve my name or position. From now on, he will be referred to as "Fake Troy" the "Wannabe Pitcher"....that is all.

Son, until you can throw 5 innings and beat a team with Matt Wilner pitching against you (with 'most' of the members of Kick Asphalts) you'll go by Troy Jr. I may have only won once, and tied once, but that's more wins and ties than you can say.

As a matter of fact, you should probably change your name since you don't play for a team that will beat mine any time soon. I don't know if I want you to use my name. You can bring it, how does it go? Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere and I'll still put you down, boy.

The difference in your lineup? Dude, I was kicking clean-up for FWB... ME! If that isn't a sign of a screwed up lineup, I don't know what is.

I also don't remember walking anyone. It might have happened once, but I don't remember. It definitely wasn't a repetitive thing, though.

I intentionally walked Ever to get the force at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The next kicker bunted down the 3rd base line and Mallory ate it up for the force out at 3rd for the 3rd out of the inning.

Aaron, absoultely, you, Eddie and Kathryn might've made a difference if you all were there, but we both know that it could've been different if Shaun and Kurstin were there for us as well. Both teams played with what we had. FWB came out on top that day. As a matter of fact, Wilner pitched that game and has been considered one of the best, if not THE best pitcher in all of kickball several times on these boards. I'm not saying we're usually better than Scared Kickless, but we were that day. I always look forward to playing against your team, whether it's KA or SK, and look forward to playing you guys again in the Spring. After all, we've got a title to defend...

Wowsers, Troy Sr. is a heavy handed dude! :o

Your title will be defended in the Fall, the Spring title belongs to KA and until anyone beats KA it will remain on KA. When KA is signed up as a team, we own Dominion. One thing that's for sure, KA will be ALL business in the Spring.

Troy/Brian, I vote we bring all the same players back, but change our team name so we can say "KA has never beaten us. Ever." Then when they try to talk smack on the boards about how they've dominated us in the past, we can just say "Wasn't us. You must have us confused for some other team."

Mark, KA has beaten you as any team that you have stepped on the field, sorry bro but nice try. I don't have to talk smack, my team has backed it up for years, even since you were still pooping yellow and rubbing it in your face.

Again, I am taking on more responsibilities here at work so I won't be able to get on and chat with you fine people. So I will leave you all with this:

Hey Whoa: Much Love, see you all soon and John, hit me up bro.
Mauler: you are the man....and carry a bat.
Trey: practice hard and maybe you will become the Yoda of kickball.
Mark and Fro: Love to smack talk with you guys, but always much respect.
Troy: See you in the spring, I will coming after my cup. ;)
Shane: You have the hardest job of all of us, get a new one and bless us with more kickball knowledge.

KA will be back in the Spring and I apologize to all of you that thought we were done. As always, we will be back and better then last season. -KA- out............................

Aaron, Friends with Benefits will be back in Dominion in the spring to defend OUR title to keep OUR Cup. No excuses. We'll field the best team we can and try to win just like every other time we've played against you all.

Another thing that this season has shown us is that the level of competition in Dominion has gone up yet again. Obviously Scared Kickless was going to be good, but FWB beat them in the tourney. Team Awesome (formerly the Blazers with some GCAS players added) beat FWB in the regular season, and only lost 2-1 to Scared Kickless in the their regular season finale. Jager Bombs (merger of Kickball Busters and Tall Bickers with a Blazer added in) beat Team Awesome in the tourney 3-2 in 10 innings. We played 10 regular season games and there 3 teams with 8+ wins (not including FWB or Team Awesome). That's gotta hold some water tih SoS against Florida.

There are 3 teams to ever win the Dominion Cup, Pity the Fool (former Founders Cup Champ), Kick Asphalts (multiple time Founder's Cup champ; arguably the best team of all-time), and now FWB (hopefully 2009 Founders Cup champ).

I think we all have to keep improving if any of us wants to bring back a trophy from Vegas next year. As good as KA is, the field has caught up.

KA went from winning every tournament they signed up for like 4 years straight, to not even making it to a finals in any tournament in the past 1.5 years. They went from being the team that everyone knew would win, to a team that also ran. To be as untouchable as they were to as mortal as they now are, tells me that the field went roaring by.

"Roaring by" implies that they are unable to play at the level of the top teams, which is completely false. They lost by 1 run to the eventual champions in Boston, they lost by 1 run to the Meatballs in Vegas. They've never not been in the final 4. They may not be head and shoulders above everyone else, but there's nobody else that can claim they are head and shoulders above them, either. The field has simply "caught up."

Ok, then if the field hasn't rabidly ascended, then KA has rapidly descended. I felt like giving credit to others for improving was a little more respectful.

OK, are you even reading my posts? "Catching up" is giving credit to the other teams for improving. I never said KA sank down. I'm simply saying that other teams have improved to KA's level. Maybe a touch higher or lower in some cases, but nobody has "roared by" leaving KA in their dust.
