Last night and Saturday

Postby 1st2third » November 7th, 2008, 7:52 am

First off I think it was a horrible idea to play last night. The fields were horrible, I saw at least 5 people fall, 3 of them on my team. Not worth getting hurt over kickball. Also if I was the person who ran the park I wouldn't let us play there ever again. Ruining fields is what got us kicked out of Virginia Beach correct? In the future I think more thought should be put into this kind of situation.

Now on to Saturday I don't think the tournament should even be played if the field is even close to the way it was last night. But I'm sure it will be decided to play. Maybe someone should ask the park reps if sand is allowed to be put down. At least in the kickers box and the pitchers circle.

I agree that the conditions were horrible...but it was kinda fun to play in the mud though. Brining sand to the game might not be a bad idea....

Those fields look torn up.....maybe we should also bring some grass seeds....and sprinkle them around the rough spots.

I agree, it was very nasty out there, but also very entertaining and fun! I was still cleaning dirt out of me in the shower this morning. Hopefully we didn't jack the fields up too much, or maybe we can shift the fields around a little bit for the tournament, and play in parts we don't usually. I thought it would be less injury prone considering a much softer landing field. I know when I slid into that puddle into 2nd, it was like a slip n slide, which beat pounding into a hard ground.

We've played in equally as sloppy conditions before. Practically the whole winter season was played in similar conditions. I had no problem with it, and actually thought playing in the mud was fun.

As long as the city doesn't kick us out, then I'm good playing in any condition... makes the ball harder to catch and throw, but that makes it more fun.

Sure it was fun but I'm just saying it was not worth getting hurt over. Luckily I don't think anyone did.

Cleats were a must have last night. I think every person without them busted their butts.
