NoShoes wrote:We were down Mallory, Jesse, JC, and Adam in addition to you, Fro. Gartman, Georgia and I were injured.
Initially, I put Eric at catcher, Jimmy at charger, me pitching, Gartman at first, April at 2nd, Kate at 3rd, Aimee at short left, Geralyn at short right, Doc at center, Mikey at left, and Shannon at right.
With "Sunday Funday" serve it up style underhand pitches, the other team relentlessly kicked to Shannon in right field. She dropped 2 kicks in one inning. While relaying the ball back in to the infield, Gartman decided to peg a runner running to second, and the ball went out into center field where Doc wasn't really anticipating a throw to his area. These errors amounted to 4 runs.
I decided to switch things around, with Shannon at 3rd, Kate pitching, Doc at right field, and me at center field. Not only did Kate perform admirably, I was able to be at every missed throw from there out, and brought the ball back to Kate if there was no play, or made plays at second if grounders came out that way. No more runs were scored on us after that.
We earned another run for the win, with the top of the lineup ready to go in the 5th inning if they eeked out another run.
It was a scary game, I tell ya, but our team really did great at shaking it off, and coming through in the end.
I'll be ready by Wednesday for softball, Thursday for kickball, and Friday for kickball.. Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see... Perhaps I should go see a witchdoctor or sumthing.. Maybe a "Psychic" Surgeon.
