Even tho the pitcher did not have the ball the play had been "dead long enough", it was the classic case of a team bitching without the pitcher having the ball on the mound and the smart team taking advantage of it on the bases.

What the hell does dead long enough mean? Was the ball overthrown? Was the person with the ball argueing something and being stupid? Were they just screwing around wasting time? If the ball was "dead long enough" and not in the pitchers hands then maybe the refs should have given them a delay of game warning.

It part of the territory of being a competitive team when there are "weaker" teams in your division. It sucks, but it happens and think positive. In a few weeks you will be playing a tourney with 15+ competitive teams that respect the way you play!

Jared It Up! wrote:it was a wild play. Wilson kicked a line drive that bounced right before 3rd base and went right over the cone, so I started yelling "yeah yeah yeah" and was waving everyone around, but they thought I yelled foul. In the mean time, their bench player threw the ball back in play. So when the 3rd basewoman had the ball, ad-rock ran home as she was winding up to throw to the pitcher. After the play, they said he had to go back. I didn't argue. Shane kicked in both runs in his next at-kick. Lots of hate from them, but lots of love from me.

This happens a lot. I try and tell new refs only yell foul balls and point towards fair territory when it is a fair ball. Because when yelling foul and fair really loud, they both can sound like one another and create confusion.
P.S. KP, NICE!

Shouldn't it be a dead ball since a non-fielder touched the ball?

Jared, she definitely didn't like you. When I was coaching third and you were up at bat, she was like "he's a f***ing asshole, I hope he gets out." She kept bitching about you to the other team. Very unclassy.

She's totally going to "steal" his baseball cap next week.

Most of the folks on Vandelay I get along with, after 3 years/4 seasons of being in the same league. There are always going to be a few with any team.

Jenny is a sweetheart and will probably read this.
Vandelay is a fun team, but has continuously admitted that they will not bunt nor like a team that bunts. But they show their spirits at the flip cup table

I think only 3-4 people kicked away on their team last night.
