Week 2 Predictions

Postby dat philthy » September 22nd, 2009, 11:26 am

Swopes Heros vs Multiple Scoregasms

Congrats to the Scoregasms as they were one of only two new DC Liberty teams to win last week, and the other (no pun intended) is hardly new to kickball. The Scoregasms were also my only incorrect pick last week. For that reason, their captain (and every captain I incorrectly pick against from here on out) is entitled to a beer at the bar. Apparently, however, I haven't learned my lesson because I'm picking against Scoregasm again based entirely on Swopes admirable performance against the Pink last week. SWOPES by 4.

Balls to the Wall vs 21st Amendment

I know nothing about the anti-Prohibitionists except that they received a solid shalooping from the Recess Raiders last week. I do know that despite an impressive girls to guys ratio, Balls to the Wall played Below Me tough. WALL BALLS by 3.

Sloppy Seconds vs. MJBG

Well I was fooled again. I took the MJBG’s to win last week. I have learned my lesson. You drunks could be playing the Ross Elementary school squad this week and I wouldn’t pick you. SLOPPIES by 1.

Pitch Set Me Up vs. Booze on First

The purples have gone through several underwhelming name changes. Their latest version just caused Abbott and Costello to roll over in their graves. Seriously though, this is a deceivingly tricky game for me to call with two evenly matched teams. Skelly vs. Marshall. Minard vs. Gray. I’ll take the purps in a close one. PURPS by 1.

Hammered vs. the Others

I love Pete Rose. As far as I know, the man never bet on his team to lose. He only picked them to win, and the way I see it, that is just being confident. However, Pete Rose didn’t tell his opponents that he was betting against them each night. That would have just needlessly motivated the opposition. NO PICK.

Pinkasaurus vs Below Me

Long time rivals square off in a classic Liberty battle, definitely the game of the week! All bets are off, and all rules are up for debate when these two teams play. Intentional walks? Maybe. Name-Calling? Definitely. Paying players from the 8:45 game to interrupt and prevent completion of the game? It’s been done before. BELOW ME by 1.

Sparkle Motion vs Das Boot

The Boots showed me a little something last week and it wouldn’t shock me to see them pull an upset. However, the sparklers have plenty of veteran saavy and, well, the Boots don’t even have shirts yet. Carrie, if you pull that “here’s a cookie, no wait, I’m giving it to Grover bullshit” on me again I’m going to lose it. SPARKLE by 2.

RRR vs MOIST

I don’t know who the Raiders recruited in the off-season, but I do know they still have George. And I only know this because he was really feeling it on the dance floor last week. You had to see it to believe it. MOIST, what can I say, your schedule is like Mission Impossible 4. This is a semifinal playoff rematch from last season, a game that the Raiders eeked out. I look for a similar result tonight. RAIDERS by 1.

I hope you are not doubting Carrie's ability. If KFC wants to throw a guy on a roof...the guy is going to be thrown on a roof.

I wasn't doubting, I'm certain KFC can do anything with the power of Jagermeister. I was merely stating I'd like to see it happen.
