It's TRICKY to pick between those teams.

Sleeper team to have a great tournament is Balls Deeper.

The real question is - where can we place our bets on who will win the Cup? Pete Rose's Steak House?

Pick a team, if they win it all I'll buy you a shot. They don't win the cup you buy me one.

Good luck to everyone in Vegas!

If it's not "The Others" winning the crown I have my money on

Let me preface this post by saying I have no knowledge of mid-west - west coast teams so I won't include in my pics.

I wouldn't mind coming up against any of those teams and think it would be great for kickball in general to see some of them make a deep run.

Teams that can make the finals - Meatballs, MIR, and Frosty

I'm not sold on MIR after our ONS game against them. I didn't see a whole lot of depth or fight in them which is essential for a tournament run.
Obviously a good team though and look for better results in this tournament.

Meatballs might be the deepest team in the tournament, but have one very distinct weak spot. :?:

Teams that can make final four - BT, The Others (long shot), Balls Deeper (going to surprise people), Riff Raff (barring their patented errors), LIU (Reeeaaal long shot)

Tricky Bunnies is a toss up, lot's of talent, not much depth. Watch out if they get hot, turn out the lights if they get frustrated.

I just think that nobody is that confident about their team taking it all...

With the two bounce rule now in play I think it evens out the playing field a lot. The frosty pitcher was absolutely nasty last year and this year I don't think he will be as dominant.

A lot of teams think they have a shot at winning it but deep down really know that the favorites are Frosty Balls/MiR/Meatballs/Others/Tricky Bunnies.

I'm taking my Meatball brethren to win it all.

Is his pitching as dominant as it was? No. Is he still one of if not the best pitchers off the mound? Hell Yes.

We Got the Runs,

What was the score when you played Frosty Balls last year?

We got dominated. We held them 3-1 for most of the game and then we ended up finishing the last 2 or 3 innings with 8 players and I think the final score was somewhere around 9-1, but that's unofficial. It was a cool experience though, we patched up our holes, and should have a good showing this year. Plus, we have a full team which helps.

DF had some solid defense there in the NYC tournament. You turn 3 double-plays against any team, you give yourself a great chance to win.

8 games gets you the championship - 9 if you have a play-in. that's a lot of kickball for 12 people, even if they are in their 20s.

Kim, I'm in with ya. Not sure what kind of talent the refs have but I bet ya we beat Maine and Vegas!

Ok Zak, I disagree with you on Dan as a pitcher per se. He is not nearly as dominent as he was but yeah he's still very good but not the best. I did see him back some months ago so he may have honed his skills with the 2 bounce and I could be wrong. What makes him great overall is his athleticism off the mound and how good of a fielder he is. That won't change. But we saw him in game 3 with the wind to his back throwing one hoppers and it was the most dominent pitching I've ever seen and probably ever will.

As for biased refs Beans? Really? We're already playing that card? I can tell you that while there weren't that many refs on the conference call they all brought up the fact that they were happy being placed in neautral pools in the opening round just to avoid an stigma. I'd be willing to bet there won't be issues with biased calls on the field.

As I mentioned before the Trickies are my wild card. Good depth in certain areas and not as much in others but a good lineup that can get hot. All four FL teams got a shot and Balls Deep will surprise as they are hot and cold. Riff Raff can be great or impload. The Meatballs have to be the favorite coming out of FL. Mir and Frosty will most certainly be in the mix w the FL teams. The Others have put it together once so who knows and people have spoken highly about BP Tigers. Cobra Kai has another year of experince and it won't be their first tourney anymore so they are an outside shot along with LIU and it's experience. I just can't get excited about AZ kickball. We played Ludicrus Speed after the Frosty game and we were so down on the field we were terrible on the offense. I thought they were mediocre. That's why I really don't consider WKYB either. Maybe a Best Coast Baller team can compete with a fairly easy run (whever WAKA decides how the playoffs will be set up). TX has to have some athletes right? No tourney experience though.

while we're on the topic of refs, can we not have the ref from last year who started our game 15 mins late because he was trying to get one last beer at the beer tent. that'd be awesome.

That's pretty bad. I can only promise (sorta) no bias refs not sober ones. Friggin hilarious. In the later rounds designate one of your girls to be a beer runner for the refs!

I think I read beer tent won't be open til 6pm so less time for retardedness.

What I meant by the refs is. Sometimes ref have to make a call that is close and can go either way with arugment. The team that wins it must have some calls go there way.

Unless a team just pure dominates everyone which I don't see that happening.

Doesn't really say much about Screw The Team then. If Ludicrous Speed was mediocre, then you should have easily run up the score. All you needed was 8 runs in the final game to get the final Wild Card spot last year. Technically we screwed "Screw The Team". Score was 0 ~ 2.
