I'm pretty sure you didn't screw anyone. Screw the Team was just too down from losing to Frosty. A good portion of the team thought we were automatically eliminated because of the loss.

Unless a team just pure dominates everyone which I don't see that happening.

A ref has to make a call one way or the other. If it's that close guess what, you're not gonna get them all.

I can tell you that I will be sober for my games. I know this because I expect MIR and FB to make it deep (if not all the way)in the brackets. As President of Shore Division I would recuse myself from reffing semi's and finals involving them. Also, the reffing schedule is set, we know who is reffing where all the way through quarters, regardless of the game outcomes. The question of perceived partiality was brought up on the conference call and ref's can switch assignments if they have relationships with the teams they are assigned to ref.

Dave is right, it was WAKA who screwed the team by giving the wild card out based on run differential instead of runs against which they later admitted should have been the tie breaker.

We realize kickball originated on the East Coast, but it's incredible how much the level of play has increased out west (even in the 3 years we've been a team). We're looking forward to hopefully playing well and having a good # of west coast teams represent. See you all Saturday!

Don't remember what they used as after runs against, but if they went to run differential they would have had Hey Whoa with SKG scoring more runs.

I am on a plane now as we speak using Air Tran WiFi. See everybody at the WAKA party tomorrow night...I'll be rolling into Planet Hollywood tonight.

Gotta go with Frosty Balls, Others, or Meatballs.

The Ballers and Shot Callers are looking forward to meeting the Tricky Bunnies in pool play. :ymparty:

Just curious for you Founders cup historians (ZAK, Shane). How many favorites have actually won the Founders cup in the last few years? Was Frosty Balls even in the top 5? What about the FL team that won it, were they even contenders?

I am asking for I don't know. Please break down the past few Founders cups and show where the winners were ranked (shanes poll) going into the cup?

Thanks

from what I remember, Frosty was considered a dark horse by everyone not named Trey. You can check in the archived tournaments to see what Shane said, but I don't think he had them as a favorite. As far as DWAKP, I don't think anybody had them winning nor did anyone think they could beat KA (same with FU v Gonzo). If I remember correctly a fair amount of people were less than complimentary of DWAKP after their video was posted in the weeks leading up to the tournament. The last favorite to win was probably KA in '06

It's been three years since one of the top five favorites has won. KA was favored in both the 2006 Founder's Cup and the 2006 Leader's Cup--they took home both trophies.

The two FL teams in Boston '08 flew completely under the radar on their way to the finals--knocking off then ranked #1 KA and #2 Gonzo in the semis. Last year, Shane had all four of the FL teams (DWKP, Meatballs, Screw the Team, and Young Guns) ranked in the top eight along with KA, Gonzo, Hey Whoa, and Sofa King Good. Only KA, Gonzo, Hey Whoa, and Meatballs made it to the Elite Eight.

Last year I was the only person telling people that Frosty should be considered one of the favorites.

I think that Frosty, Meatballs, and MiR have the best chance of making it all the way through.

I hope I get to see some FL teams play, so I can get a better understanding of how good they really are.

I'm still bummed that the 3rd String didn't make it past the wait list. :(

Tricky Bunnies have no depth? Out of all people you should know how I manage and run a team...We will be having 8 guys and 4 girls playing which means more times up for the top of the order....

I'll tell you one thing...the team that is going to win it will be the team that makes the least amount of errors and GETS the calls by the REFS!!! The refs play a HUGE part in this game and it sucks that you might get stuck with a ref who is BIAS!!!

Did you really lose a game on purpose and not do your homework on WKYB?

I see, so if you win that game you made the right move and prob make the final four? Either way, it's risky business, as you know.

BCB wasn't horrible by any means, but there is no excuse for us losing a game we're up 4-1 in late innings.

Guess that's just the way the ball bounces sometimes and in our case it bounced into a two run homerun.

that team from Cali was horrible! Balls Deep lost that game...

If you would see the brackets and our road to the finals you would of did the same thing!

In close matchups it usually does come down to who makes the errors, and who can capitalize on them. Balls Deeper was an awesome team and that was a great game.

I guess making it to the finals, mercy ruling 4 teams on the way there and allowing only 10 runs in the tournament (if I recall)makes us horrible.

Thanks for the props Connor, we all had an amazing time playing you.

I watched BCB play aginast the Texas team and in the Finals. They can definately play and dominated the Texas team that hadn't given up a run in the tournament to that point including beating WKYB who beat Tricky Bunnies.

The game of the tournament may have been the Riff Raff vs. Others semifinal, but BCB was by all means a worthy finalist.

Tipsy Bunnie Jimmy.. you are clearly still wasted from all the weekend festivities because it sounds like you are simply acting like the bitter step child of the other legitimate Florida teams. i.e.. Meatballs, Riff Raff, Balls Deep.
