How is it these are "returning" teams? I don't recall seeing either of them in the standings from last year.

If using the argument "the players are largely the same as a team that played last season", then K365 would be a returning team as well.

Somebody please get Ryan a copy of last year's roster. He seems to have a very bad memory. ;)

Judgement call by the board. If its the same captain bring most of the same group back, they're a returning team. Though I may have my doubts with GFY. Same captain, but I'm not how mich of his crew is returning KBNP.

Very bad. I know I can name off at least 8 people that weren't on that roster last year.

Of course its only an issue if you think thry are getting unfair preference. As of right now, the order of seniority goes:

KK
BOG,DMB
OITP
BTTM,BSC
KBNP
All new teams

Whoa whoa whoa, don't forget that I was on Whiskey Kick in DC Capital in Spring, 2006...gotta put OSC near the top for seniority.

I just find it odd that one team that is the result of two teams merging is considered a returning team, while another isn't.

Not that it matters... it still amounts to the same thing. The only REAL question here is, which team will have more players at Food Court? :^)

"Go "F" Yourself!!" We played against them in DC Freedom last summer. Middle of the pack team. Food court can't get here soon enough.

A clip from the last edition of GMOT from DC Freedom this summer...

As young children looked in awe at the
tallest monument the nation's capital has to offer, the GFY
sideline displayed the class of a mangy seagull. After Cowboy
players informed him that screaming "go f*** yourself" at
the top of your lungs could possibly reflect poor judgment
because there were children around, he followed his
comment with "I dont give a f***!," just as loud as the first
time. Nice.

You can expect more of that this coming season I'm sure. To be honest I'm surprised some concerned parent walking by hasn't taken issue with their team chant. It could very well happen this season.

Well...

OSC claims to be the same BSC franchise.
GFY claims to be KBNP.
K365 claim to be a new team as the result from leftovers from a merger and defunct teams.

Gotcha. It doesn't matter, really. I just wondered at your criteria for determining who was a returning team. So it's based on what the team "claims."

Does WAKA refund money if a team doesn't get the night preference they asked for?

There could be issues with people literally not being able to play on a single Wednesday night, which isn't a problem if it means only missing a crossover game or two.
