DC Capital - The 2010 Schedule

National Mall

Postby Festa » April 18th, 2010, 3:25 pm

Greetings Capital Division!

The much-anticipated Spring 2010 Schedule is out.

http://www.kickballlegends.com/public/s ... easonId=99

FAQs:
What is Crossover Week?
Crossover Week is when Wednesday and Thursday collide in head to head matchups. Week 5 is "Rivalry" week where the teams with history with each other will battle it out for bragging rights. Week 8 is Position Week. Based on standings after Week 7, we will be pairing the best Wednesday teams with the best Thursday teams.

What is All-Star Week?
This is where the best players from each team combine to for 2 All-Star teams... then we'll duke it out of the field to answer that age old question. "Which night is better?" This always happens the last week of May. There are no normal games, but there are skills competitions and the annual Flip-cup tournament.

More info to come in this Tuesdays Ghost Man On Third.

One odd stat (because Wednesday has only 10, while Thursday has 12)
- BttM and GWGSP (both Thursday teams) play each other on Crossover-Rivalry week. If either enters Week 8 ranked #11 or #12 on Thursdays, then they'd be the only Thursday team to never play a Wednesday team all season.

Coincidence:
- This is the 3rd consecutive year BOG and DMB face off during Cop Week.

RIP Keg Kickers and Caissons:
- This is the first year Festa's team is not scheduled to play a team that does not have Grinnell or Beil yet they're still in the division. This is not likely to change since it's assumed BOG will play OSC for Position week, securing a 3rd year in a row BOG will play former co-worker, Jordan.

Now we don't have to worry about people trying to switch their schedule:
- iB and OSC finally got their wish and get to play each other the last game of the season.

Again?
- If BttM can steal a flipcup victory against OITP again this season, they'd be on pace to win the Flip-cup Regular Season again.

"Steal" a win? We didn't lose a single match last year, regular season or championship tournament.

Festa is just trying to bait us. We'll see OITP week 4 (?) and put this noise to rest for good.

well, I sincerely hope we DO switch the schedule. I'd told my team all along that I'll be at USA's during the week of June 24th. Figures, the date we are scheduled to play OSC. :@

That's just what OITP said. You played them week 1 and for whatever reason, they don't count that.

Not sure who on our squad, really asked for the game against them to be the last game anyhow? First game, last game...every game....I am good with all of it. I was hoping maybe instead of just talking on the boards about kickball, that Festa may actually try to get a real squad together and give us and OSC some competition? 8)

It's a VERY big assumption. But it's Week 1. I gotta talk up a good game while I'm still in the hunt.

BOG got OITP for rival (because of flip-cup, and our playoff upset)
DMB got Team GFY (because GFY stole Sid from DMB)

and that's it. The rest of the Wednesday teams are rookies.

Mikey G's team is iB

yeah, but the assumption was BOG would be #1. with 8 new teams, there's a good shot of at least one being this year's sparkle motion and knocking them out of the wedensday top spot.

Oh yeah, I have little faith in BOG necessarily being there after last year's early season debacle, but Roy's comment suggested that IBS would somehow be ahead of us in the standings and I don't see that happening.

OSC hasn't scored any runs either. I'm wondering what you're basing this statement on... last year's results from The Others, or the Ballers?

You talking about the game I played in with the sprained foot or the one I played in with the broken wrist?

And I definitely made no such claims last year.

2008 Ballers and Shot Callers gave up 3 runs the entire season, with two coming in our first game ever. Giving up zero runs on the season is definitely possible.

Why is everyone so obsessed with the fact on this MB that OSC hasn't taken the field as a team yet? Take the results from BSC, and then factor in that we added 7 or 8 of the best players from last year's Founders Cup champions, and two or three dirty free agent pick-ups. It's kickball. We know how good the team will be.

OSC hasn't scored any runs either. I'm wondering what you're basing this statement on... last year's results from The Others, or the Ballers?

Why is everyone so obsessed with the fact on this MB that OSC hasn't taken the field as a team yet? Take the results from BSC, and then factor in that we added 7 or 8 of the best players from last year's Founders Cup champions, and two or three dirty free agent pick-ups. It's kickball. We know how good the team will be.

Probably because you insist on running your mouth, every year. So long as that's the case, I'm sure there will always be those who will want to see your posts proven wrong, or point out evidence to the contrary.

Haha, kickball without trash talk is like flip cup without beer. What's the point?

For as much as I run my mouth, I'm usually right.

TOSC will give up runs this year. IGB is a solid team. Even Gonzo back in 2007 in VA Alexandria gave up a few runs while scoring 137. It's likely to happen.
