Attention FC attendees!

I'm going to be running an informal throwing contest at Founders Cup this year. I've got a radar gun and a clipboard. A $1 donation will get you two tries and your highest MPH gets recorded on my sheet. I will probably get started during the break between Pool and Bracket Play and continue once we're eliminated.

I tried to get a booth or something official happening thru waka but they never got back to me. So if they are thinking of stealing my idea I'm going to poach their business by undercutting their price. I'm still trying to get a t-shirt and sign to make it easier to find me. After it's all said and done (next week) I'll post the speeds of everyone. Maybe figure out which division has the strongest arms or something.

I've been thinking of doing this for a long time and think it'll be really fun. I'm asking for a $1 donation because I had to buy the radar gun and will probably be giving up watching the majority of the tournament.

See you on the field!

I wish NBK's charger was there. I would love to see where he falls. Maybe I can convince him and the rest of my team to go to SoCA for the circuit event. (hopefully you have it there)

Sounds fun. If Larry does it he should win.

Great idea, I would like to see Karl, Larry, Corey, and Blackhole do this challenge.

Its really fun to gun the pitches and watch the speed drop by like 30% on the 2nd bounce. Really shows what that rule changed.

Ok, he said the hardest throw. I haven't seen anyone throw harder than Corey with two bounce pitching.

This won't be a fastest pitch contest. Just throwing thru the air. But ya, we were watching pitches start at 44mph out of the hand and by the time they hit the plate they were 12-14 mph.

Cool, I will stick with my post then:

You could also do the difference in speed between a one bounce pitch and a two bounce pitch. Not sure if and when a good time to do this would be though.

I'd put Bill Bertone in that discussion as well. His debut with Panik was in NYC. He switched innings with Larry at Charger. He also played a lot of 1B. Dude has a canon!

I left the sheet at home but I'll put out all the numbers I got later tonight. Unfortunately/fortunately I decided to drink and enjoy the games more than really try to get this going.

I've got a lot of YBAF numbers and a couple others. So far, I haven't seen anyone throw faster than 48 mph. 3 people have reached it but I'm sure some one can hit the 50 mph mark.

I am now inspired to buy a radar gun and see what some of the AZ guys can do... there are definitely a few that can bring it.

I watched the sofa jki game, that dude had a gun. Probably the best pitcher I saw all day. very odd decision to walk the 3 kicker with bases empty and two down tho.
