VA Southside Fall 2010 Tournament

Postby JohnPWilks » November 6th, 2010, 8:16 am

"If your life revolves that much around kickball, then you've got issues."
The Urban Dictionary's definition of Kickball - "Kickball is a game of passion, of tears, of blood. It is the single greatest game ever conceived, besting even that of a good game of dodgeball."

I would like to thank Bundy for the great job he did at head ref in our finals game. He was clear, loud, concise and very unbiased. I don't remember if you have been head ref in a game I was in before, but you were one of the best refs, IMO, in 5 years of playing kickball, that I have seen. You should do it more! And also thanks to Kate and John, who side reffed and did a great job...great season with great people.

Seeing how we didn't make it out of the sweet 16, I'm not sure how strong we were going. That was just a FC team, though. I'm back to Mo Tussin for the Circuit. We might resurrect M2S from the dead for SFKO, though. Depends on getting enough to go to FL.

Thats geat man, sounds like you have a plan! Is Greg still playing with you guys?

Gregg will never stop playing. Ever. He's still on IB, and I'm sure he'll be at SFKO unless he gets slammed at work. Or maybe he'll just be on his phone while he's up to kick.

Someone has to keep these crazy youngsters in line, not always an easy task. Most of you people just show up and play, consider yourselves lucky.

I seriously showed up to my baseball game a few weeks ago reeking of the stuff. It was much needed, though.

I have given some people some looks and then given them a tourney or two. I use the JimmyBeans approach, I ask for an athletic resume first. You all would piss yourself if you would see some of the stuff people send me, pure comedy.

For us, we only bring on people we know (mainly people that we know we'll enjoy playing with). Usually we've played with or against them in some sport, and have an idea whether or not they'll be good at kickball. We also have a "no douchebags" policy. Don't care how good you are, if you're a jackass to your teammates or the opponents, we don't want you. Fortunately, we haven't had any issues yet. :-)
