"Not saying we wouldn't add players from Safety Pullout for other tourneys if needed"-  Bellman gives us depth at Charger and Catcher, 2 position we lack depth plus we need another strong bunter because Clay can't make the NAKAD tourney.
Does it matter who we decide to add each tourney? You've said SP was a one and done team.

Doesn't matter to me. Just find it funny that you have 20+ players on your team from AZ and you still need to recruit more for an AZ tourney!

Actually, the 20+ is the reason we can't combine the 7-8 peeps from SP. But we'll add peeps here and there each tourney for depth

Probably only 3 players from SP. Bellman, Phillip and Tim.

I am done with competitive kickball. Not worth the headache. I might play in the NAKAD tourney just to help out my close friends running the tourney.

Sounds like you're easily giving up on forming a squad. You have a good core to make a competitive team charles.

I asked Bellman to play in the NAKAD tourney before I knew WR would play, thinking it would prob be a WR availables team.  We told everybody who wanted to play with their NAKAD teams to go ahead and do that. When Bellman couldn't get his Friday team to play he gave us the commitment.

The players on WR are on the teams that I would hope play in the NAKAD tourney. If they are playing on WR, I am nervous on how many teams will sign up.

Maybe this will help...

Last year the BoW tourney was held here... http://www.yelp.com/biz/marina-vista-park-long-beach.

Since its in May and its near the harbor, I would recommend that you all start getting hotels ASAP. Who knows what kinds of shit will pop up around that area. ie Weddings, receptions, other random travelers. The park itself is in a very nice and safe area. But of course the farther you get away from it, the sketchier it gets.

If you all find a better, cheaper hotel that isnt in long beach, then renting a car or some other form of transit is going to be needed.

And the drive from Long Beach to Phoenix should be around 7 hours through a very dry and desolated desert.

i would say 25-30 minutes. the traffic won't be bad in the morning so i'd say anywhere within a 30 minute radius should be fine.

i got my ticket to LAX already but you could fly into any, depending on what's cheapest. you'll have to rent a car anyway so it's not a big deal.

burbank, LAX, long beach, orange county are all close enough.

Best of the West tourney - I am personally not attending
NAKAD tourney - 1 week after FL - probably not going to get people who traveled to FL to travel to this.

Ha, what kind of an answer is that? Well our starting C just broke his arm and our back up C broke his toe so NM is a slim chance. I am emailing the team to gauge interest in any of the circuit tournaments. I am just hoping that we can make it to one whether that be CA, VA, DC, ATL or NYC.

LAX is always the cheapest to fly in to and it's about 20 minutes north of Long Beach. You could probably take a bus of some sort from the airport to wherever you are staying in Long Beach.

I wouldnt recommend Burbank and Ontario because they are really far away. So renting a car is a must out of those airports.

Sofa King beat my team "The Monster Cartel" in OT last year. The turnout was decent enough.

But it was a 2 horse race. Us 2 beat down the other rag tag teams who complained about our bunting. LOL!

I cant guarantee that the tournament is going to be in the same park, BUT it's likely because the park is big enough and had 3 grass fields and 1 dirt field. The people that organized it last year were in WAKA at that park, so im assuming with how difficult it is to get a park that they have a connection.

Somebody get Admin to confirm the location ASAP cause like I said. Late May by the beach is usually a busy time.

Just to echo what Javy said, tournament was in Long Beach. I assume that is where it is again.

Airports- LAX, Long Beach, John Wayne
Jet Blue flys direct to Long beach from JFK.

LA is tough to get around if you are interested in partying in Long Beach I am sure there will be a good afterparty. If you are looking for a more "LA" scene that wouldn't be the place to stay.

You will probably need a car wherever you say, but I have known LA kickballers to be very hospitable and could hook you up with rides or couches to crash on if need be.

Then again, most of those people will be coming from the San Fernando Valley and Mid-Wilshire area so it can be a 40 minute drive.

Fully Loaded really wants to attend this tournament. This is the next tournament on our list. We are currently attempting to figure out our finances and who can go. If we can get a commitment from the majority of the team and the tournament won't cause us to go broke, we will be there.

Any idea how many teams are expected this year?
How many teams showed up last year?

And for some reason, Long Beach gets EXTRAORDINARILY HOT AS HELL. This coming from a guy that lives in the valley. So strong sun block, hats and water are a must.

If I remember correctly, last year there were 8 teams separated into 2 brackets. I think 1 team backed out at the last second. and Like I said, it was a 2 horse race and the other teams wouldnt hack it at the bottom of your worst division.

BUT that being said, alot of teams have shown interest so we may be looking at an AWESOME tournament with alot of Founder's cup teams.

There were 8 teams last year, but I am guessing from LA there could be as many as 11 teams.

That's what I like to hear!

You guys think you could have 15 to 20 teams for this tournament?

We really want to play Sofa King Good. We think you guys are legit and love playing the best of the best.

We also think Sofa King Good is the key to the advancement of competitive kickball on the West Coast and we would like to help you guys and girls lead that charge.

I would hope for 16 anything more than that is gravy.

Would look forward to playing you guys as well, always impressed with how quickly you guys are able to re-load with new talent to replace people who have moved to other teams.

We could use all the help we can get, sometimes think we are scaring off the competitive teams.

My count is:
5 Studio teams- SKG, AKT, Monsters, Pirates, DFU
3 Hollywood- Pitch, Please, APR, Balls n' Dolls
2 Long Beach teams- Don't know there names
1 Crown- Brew Crew
2 Orange County teams- American Gladiators, Vampirates

My only concern is that Memroial Day is usually a weekend when people skip town and head to Vegas.
