I've heard stories in the past about playoff games going extremely bad. I just don't see how WAKA can not have paid refs. Yes the paid refs will still make bad calls but I would be LESS likely to complain as much if they did.
Fully Loaded was not saying that it hit the fence, they said it hit me while diving back. If it did or didn't, the ref at third said THAT IT DID NOT. In any case if there is an overthrow the runner is allowed to advance no matter what.
Like I said, at this point it is what it is. I'm at least allowed 24-48 hours to bitch.

the smaller twin wrote:OK, now I have to respond. I like how Kevin asks if we argued that the ball should be a dead ball because it hits the fence and then Trey is disappointed with us for doing so. Where did this come from? LOL. Never once did Evan ever mention that and never once did we ever argue that. I understand Evan is upset but I understand where he is coming from because I have been frustrated with calls many times before.
However now, I have to tell the whole story here. Evan dove back into second base and as I was watching him get up from the base, he took his hands off the bag so I threw the ball at him (As I'm throwing the ball at him I'm thinking "I know none of the refs are even going to see this") and it grazed his shorts. He obviously didn't feel it and once that happened pandemonium pretty much broke out. We were yelling that the ball hit him as he ran toward third and none of the refs really knew what was going on. As he rounded third, he realized my catcher had the ball and lunged back into third. My catcher hit him with the ball in the chest (which was clear as day) and then the ball trickled into foul territory on the third base sideline. Like Evan said, the third base umpire who literally looks like he is 12 stood there like a deer in headlights and then made a safe call (hand gesture, no actual sound) after a few seconds. At that point the homeplate umpire was already on the field trying to calm everything down and had pretty much blown the play dead, whether that is correct or not. The only thing we ever argued is that he was out getting up from second and then was out againt lunging back into third. When the umpires got together to discuss the situation, I figured he was either going to be called out or he would score. From what the homeplate umpire told me, the first base umpire thought he was out at third and he also thought he was out at third but he was not sure. Evan has every right to be upset because his team played really well and it was a disheartening way to lose, but nobody should be accusing me or my team of any wrong doing.
That I have a problem with.

Like I said before my only problem was that the head ref, who is a WAKA representative, couldn’t give us a clear answer.
And I take what the first base ref says with a grain a salt. He was wearing a skirt, was drinking and had clearly made two TERRIBLE calls earlier in the game going both directions.
At this point it is what it is. I’m hoping we are done with WAKA after next season and we can start getting competitive games weekly with Ultra.

When the refs blew two calls in our game against you in Virginia that cost us the game, why didn't you correct them?

You guys argued every call. You're going to have to be more specific.

I wholeheartedly agree that WAKA employees need to know the rule book. I am doing my damnedest to make sure I know every nuance in every rule. Now if only I could get to that $15,000 a year mark. I've got a looooong way to go.

kwido03 wrote:I can't ever blame another team for what the refs decide. Fully loaded as far as I am concerned is innocent on their end. When things get crazy both teams will argue and they should. You have to stick up for you team! The bottom line was the refs let the play run its course. They called nothing at 2nd and called safe at 3rd. Then the play finished with us scoring and fully loaded throwing the ball around in the chaos. That means we scored and won. Then the ref uses his opinion to put the guy back at 3rd for no reason. If he is safe at third then he scores, bottom line! And that was the call! I just do not understand how the decision was made to not count the run especially considering the play was never stopped. And the reasoning and the unwillingness to listen and make the right call is not really excusable. And even more so considering this ref represents the league. And the other refs were a joke and should have never been on the field. Knowing this though, (since one of them had a f-ing kilt on) the main ref (the waka worker) should have taken charge each and every play. It is really not that hard. I mean I literally pitched a strike at one point while he was on the phone. And to make it even worse the run fully loaded scored was scored by a player that was blatently out. This is a 2 run swing which we all know is a game changer in any competitive game. This game was a joke. I dont blame fully loaded at all. The wrong call was made for them to get the first run and then when there was an opportunity to make the right call and get us our run back the play was reversed and he just put a runner on 3rd because of his "opinion". If you own one employees can't follow the rules and cant be willing to make the correct call or at least listen then your product is shit. This guys works for WAKA and blew this game.
