[GA] Official: 11 Teams (Updated 6/7/11)

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up...

For those that are coming in early on Thursday night our first WAKA game will be at either 6:30 or 7:30- doubt anyone will get in that early but after the game we're going to our Sponsor Bar- East Andrews (http://www.eastandrews.com/main.php?page=home). I've arranged for any kickballer coming into town early to get their first drink free. On top of that I've picked that Thursday to have my FREE $100 tab and I think a few other players may have done the same to show some of you out of towners a good time. Send me a PM if you'll be in on Thursday and we'll meet up at some point.

While you all may be correct, I find it hard to believe that a team which has a team calender, personalized New Era hats, bears and coffee mugs with their logos on them and nicer uniforms than any of us have, wouldn't be interested in expanding the popularity of their team.

I think they need a welcoming yet firm push in the right direction, followed by challenging call-out if that doesn't work.

Completely agree. You folks caught on quick -- you went from being a force in the Atlanta local area to national contender -- you definitely have the talent, and your brand has not taken a hit (quite the opposite).

What do they have to hide?

Yo... looks like the DC side of "DC availables" just imploded. Flights went up over $500 today and caused a couple of people to back out. That in turn caused a couple of other guys to back out.

The availables team is in doubt at the moment. Our Charger and I are still in, and we're working with the VIDF guys to see if we can salvage a team... but we're hurting for ladies.

Flying V, you guys know of any local soccer ladies who would be interested in playing? Or any ladies you guys have been wanting to try out but don't have the room on your roster? We have 1 girl who is a definite right now, and two other "possibles"... but that makes me nervous.

That's very odd. Just booked a flight today from NYC for $237 r/t ... you could always reverse-commute to the tourney ...

I am only seeing low $300s for WAS-ATL flights (either out of Dulles or Reagan), assuming you don't want to trek into the woods to BWI (flights are high 200s) ... so I'm not sure where you're getting the $500 figure at all ...

We're still looking to fill 2 more girls spots but we may have a few ladies we can send your way. I'm trying to hammer down a few more commitments and try 2 girls out this weekend. I may know more on Sunday (hopefully). I know Bundy will be in town and looking for a team. We were going to set him up with an Atlanta team if they needed extras.

You could always drive as an alternative. It should only be between 9 - 10 hour drive and it'll be cheaper than flying. Some of the FL players are driving to Atlanta from Ft. Lauderdale.

Well after looking into flights a bit more and hearing the full details, he needs something that flies out after 7pm and is a direct flight... he can't take off work on Friday, and doesn't deal with connecting flights since they get canceled or missed too often. That limited the options a bit, and I guess those limited options all took a pretty serious hike in price.

Pat and I are planning to drive down on Friday morning, so we're all set. It's convincing the others that has been the problem.

Maybe we'll be able to round up a lady or two at our league game tonight, but I'm not betting my life on it. Anyone you happen to find would be most welcome.

Flight prices might go down on TUE but that's cutting it close...

Flying V will have 14 guys 5 girls on the roster for this one. Going to be 97+ with the ga humidity so the depth will be key. We will prob play 12 guys n 4 girls a game....
