IKF Announces Tourney Dates for 2012

The International Kickball Federation has finalized dates for the following tournaments:

South Florida Kickball Open, Ft Lauderdale, FL: February 18th
Info: This tourney will in all likelihood remain part of the Circuit Events. As always we expect a tremendous turnout as I have already been contacted about dates and information from teams across the country. As always we will be planning a meet & greet and after party with an informal Sunday Funday. We may also add a social event for Thursday night as well. The fields will be Central Broward Regional Park, same as last year and we will be working with a downtown Ft Lauderdale hotel within the next month for special rates. Registration will open after the Circuit Finals in October.

Lone Star Kickball Open, Austin, TX: April 21st
Info: This new kid on the block has gotten some nice feedback and Austin remains an incredible town to party in. We will be talking with the Circuit team about making this tournament an event. Nothing has officially been decided but we should know after October when the Circuit is able to finalize thier package. As always we will have a meet & greet on Friday and an after party on Saturday. We also plan to organize a BAR CRAWL on Thursday evening so that the out of towners get a chance to see all of downtown Austin. Details forthcoming. The fields will remain at Northeast Metro Park and the host hotel will be the La Quinta in downtown Austin. Registration will be open after the new year in January.

Of the 7-8 placed I've traveled to play kickball these two places are far and away my favorite. Everything from the tournament itself to the party scene is top notch. It would be a shame if these aren't circuit events in 2012.

Agree 100%. My whole purpose for coming on the board this morning was to see if anyone knew when SFKO was. Very happy to see this thread!

I Will try and continue to update this thread as we go along. After I talk w/ Admin about the circuit I'll let everyone know what the deal is with registration opening and such.

Running a social event on Thursday in Austin before the tourney is pretty much a done deal but I'd like to get feedback as we get closer if there's a demand for a Thursday event before the SFKO or is everyone better off flying in Friday.

I'm sure closer to the event there will be a group that puts together an available's team. Most teams will wait til after Circuit Cup is over and plan our the Circuit schedule for the next year. Not sure what tournaments we'll be going to next year, but Austin definitely gets my vote after seeing the drink specials.
