AZ Fire Semi's & Finals - Thurs 12/15

Consider this a mini 4-team AZ tournament. 3 of the Final 4 playoff teams left represented AZ kickball @ Founders Cup or the Circuit Championship this year. The 4th team is a scrappy bunch of shit-talkers trying to break through.

Top Half : #4 Poison Face (5-3) vs #1 Whiskey Richard (7-0-1)
- PF held their own with a respectable 2-0 loss vs WR in week 3 of the regular season, and they haven't lost since. They've got some talent on their team and are starting to adapt to the speed of competitive kickball. They will be vocal and attempt to get in the heads of favorite WR. Can the play on the field back up the trash talk? PF has a puncher's chance, but I don't see enough depth, experience, or elite playmakers to get enough runs off WR's shut down defense. Odds: WR -4.5

Bottom Half : #3 Straight to the Bank (6-0-1-1*) vs #2 Sir KixAlot (6-2)
- STTB got off to a hot 5 run first inning start during the regular season 6-3 victory over SKA, but SKA fought back to make it a game. These two teams have developed a heated rivalry over the years, and it's hard to handicap those games.

Recent Playoff Matchups:
Spring 2010 - STTB 6 -3 Win in Quarter Finals
Summer 2010 - SKA 5-4 Win in Finals
Fall/Winter 2010 - SKA Win (score?) in Quarter Finals
Spring/Summer 2011 - STTB 7-2 Win in Finals

STTB has a current 2 game win streak vs. SKA. Can they ride that momentum to another "W" or will SKA come up with the knock out punch and reach the Finals? Odds: STTB -0.5

Nice write up. I've been looking forward to the playoffs for awhile, the main reason we signed up was to play you guys and SKAL. I wish I could watch your guy's semi game, I'm sure it will be a great game. I think our Poison Face game could be a close one, depends if they can shut us down in the first inning and vice versa.

Having said all that, I would be surprised if we get to play this week with it supposed to rain until Wednesday. I'm hoping it's not raining too much at the fields.

After seeing how much "rain" caused our games to be cancelled a few weeks ago, I'd be surprised if the City didn't cancel games again.
