Do you really want to face Corey in one bounce?!? I think it's in both of our interests that we don't play one-bounce

I've faced Corey in 1-bounce. He's on par with Dan, Larry, JC, and Bill. The difference being, he can only pitch about three games through the course of the tournament. Dan can pitch 4-5 and the other three can put everything they have into the one game a piece that they pitch.

come on 1 bounce :ympray:

That would be my personal preference too, Zak. However, the question of making it tier 1 vs tier 2 was discussed, and the general consensus was that the majority of teams attending would prefer 2-bounce over 1-bounce.

Timberwolf, I tossed around the idea of 1-bounce for TKO, too. The general consensus was that only Dan and Dematas really wanted 1-bounce. The rest of the kickball world wanted to pretend like they weren't afraid of 1-bounce when they really were.

I won't say that I'm afraid of 1-bounce... But I can tell you that the first season WAKA rules shifted to 2-bounce is the first season my team cared at all about winning. So basically we will need to practice 1-bounce before attending any tournaments with that rule.

Yeah, we're still brand new to the competitive kickball scene.

edit: To clarify, though. 10 players on the field rather than 11, correct?

Yes, just to clarify – SFKO 2011 is going to be a tier-2 (i.e. - 2 bounce) Circuit Event and therefore will be using Circuit rules, which you can find at http://www.kickball365.com/thecircuit/refereeing/rulebook/

Circuit Rules call for a max of 10 players on the field (with at least 4 of them being female).

Also, you may want to get a hold of a circuit ball to practice with since that is what will be used at the tournament. It's a smaller, more lively ball than the WAKA ball.

If you have more questions about the SFKO, you can always email info@soflakickballopen.com

Note: No overhand in this league. Arm has to under 90 degree. So some good side arm 1 bounce.

P.S. Your AVATAR makes you look taller.

Agreed.

One idea I've had was to introduce a "mini" game at events which would include 7 fielders, 1 bounce pitch, and 3 bases (1B, 3B, HP). Crazy-batshit-kickball. 8)

To clarify, there is a proposal to eliminate the tier 1/2 rule and just make it 2 bounce. Summit is on 11/14 so we'll see if it gets in or not.

i'm excited to get to work with cullen, if he will have me. i've met him in passing at tournaments but never really got to spend time with him. have heard nothing but good things about his ability to put together tournaments so he may not need my help.
