How big is that roster now?

You'd have to ask the captain.

Agreed - especially Albuquerque as it's is only a 6.5 hour drive from Denver. We've previously seriously talked about attending this tournament but it's no longer a certainty as our team is currently in a transition as our only Team Captain ever stepped down this offseason and we're unsure who'll step up in 2012.

still putting it out there, you can always attend as a free agent. grab a couple buddies and go out there just to play on a random team, have fun, and take back great tales of adventure and kickball. there's also always a need for refs so you could go and ref and get paid and get into the parties and take that back with you as well. you would get to see a lot of kickball that way.

Im happy to announce STTB is currently organizing a hybrid team for the circuit 2012. If everything goes as expected we will be attending:

Best of the West, CA (3/24)
San Diego, CA (7/7)
Chandler, AZ (Sept)
New Orleans, LA (Nov - if bid is earned)

Outside chance: Austin & San Fran

Long shot: New Mexico

I don't think you have to earn a bid if you are a registered Circuit team.

Kim is correct. Once you play in one circuit tournament, and then register your team & players for the circuit. You qualify for New Orleans. Here's the catch, you do need to register your team for the circuit, not just the individual tournament to qualify.

So you play in ABQ, you then register and pay the fee to keep your points from that tourney, you then don't have to play in any others. But you should, since playing in more tournaments can give you more points for a better rank in the championship field.

You also need to update your roster, to keep the circuit updated on pickups, to keep the transfers fair for each upcoming tournament and championship.

1- play in your first tournament
2- pay team registration fee within time frame allotted
3- registered teams are automatically eligible for CC / you can not play in CC without registering your team

Is this accurate?

What is the registration cost & how much time following the event do you have?

im pretty sure it will be $500 to register your team for the circuit. that puts you in the championship tournament providing you played in a tournament already.

you have 30 days to keep your points earned from that tournament.

Thanks Renzo. The upgraded team is still taking form, but definitely an exciting process.

What is AOD's plan for '12?

It's $500 to register your team as a circuit team, then do you pay an entry fee to play in the new Orleans tourney as well or is that covered by the $500?

there is no additional fee to play in new orleans, beyond the $500 to register your team. there is a fee for each of the individual tournaments leading up to new orleans (they have to have the funds to run the tournament, after all) but once you are registered and you attend one tournament (or win the highest level of competition in your organization) you are qualified to play in new orleans for no additional cost.

yes. the $500 to register your roster as a circuit team, also registers your team for the championship.

The Team Fee is no longer the case for 2012.

Please note the Team Fee was the 2011 model. We are announcing the new registration model soon. However, to note, there will still only be ONE fee that you need to pay to allow you to attend The Circuit Cup Championship in NOV. The best document that will explain this is the Structure Document which is being updated at the moment.

So, yes...

In short:
1) Attend any of the 15 Circuit Events
2) Register as a Player within The Circuit (you would register with your team like any other league)
3) Once your Team is registered you will receive the Circuit Points you earned at the Circuit Event your team attended.
4) All players/teams who register with The Circuit are guaranteed a spot at The Circuit Cup Championship*

Admin

* Assuming we don't get 75+ teams registering to compete in New Orleans, If this happens we'll likely need to make changes to the schedule.

On @First2Third Episode 35 we dissect how The Circuit works, how to qualify for the Cup, how the individual events operate (i.e. The National Tour), etc.

It should be posted tonight/tomorrow.

Will pass on to the troops. Hope a couple teams make some events. St Louis should be a given but its the weekend before our spring tourney. NO looks like it might be the same weekend of our fall tourney but still need to set schedule.

Did any tourneys in 2011 require players to ref? I only went to two (VBKO and DC) and I don't recall any there.

NYC was considerably short refs. My field had a 1B player-ref for each pool game and maybe even the first playoff game.

I am 98% sure the other two fields that were on the same soccer field had the same situation.

Yes, for all of my games I had a player as a 1b Ref. Lots and lots of Refs bailed last minute so it was a scramble.

Just an idea... Could you make the circuit schedule into an importable calendar file (.ics)? I keep needing to look up this thread trying to plan other trips around tourneys I'm planning on going to. I've added mine already, but it might be useful for others.

or perhaps we could put together a k365 google calendar and make it open for people to subscribe to? i'm willing to do that with my k365 account, but i'm sure admin has a master calendar that would be better suited.

Google calendar is pretty universal and easy to use on almost any device. One more suggestion might be to add the social events to such a calendar (or in a second calendar) so that way it's easy to see times/locations without trying to track that info down on the forum while traveling. Plus any last minute changes would be instantly noticed.

That would be great. It would be easy enough to copy only the tourneys you want to attend to a personal calendar as well.
