Just got the lineup emailed to me for tonights game. I'm kicking 15th, which is fine because they don't know me. However, we are kicking guy-girl-guy-girl through the whole order....should be exciting

I feel sorry for you. Hopefully the girl in front of you is hott?

Don't get excited, she's probably married.

That really sucks. When teams are that social (or lack common strategic sense) its super difficult for any competitive player to try and have fun.

I went 3-3 with 2HR the other week kicking in the 4 spot and the very next week they had me kicking 13th in a similar guy girl guy girl order. We lost by 1 run an I only kicked once. Bonus: the captain was a mad we lost too. At least the girls here are single.

We will have a girl kicking 4th. Also, I don't know if I said this before but the captain is a girl. Interesting to see how that works out.

Because I'm bored out of my mind at work I emailed her and asked her if people bunt on this team or just kick away. Her response; I guess its just a quick decision ;) I don't even know what that means. I feel like this thread could turn really funny by the end of the season, so at least something good will come of it. Also, I will be trying my hardest for the bunt homerun.

Attempt a bunt home run every single time. If your team gets mad, just say "it's just kickball!!!!1!!!1!!"

Would a bunt grand slam be the royal flush of kickball? That should be the new goal for anyone competitive that's stuck in a league like this.

Do they pitch slow to the girls in ULTRA? Or in other leagues, other places? Just curious.

Yeah. At least like, $130.

Week 2 Charlotte Update:
Great success! (insert Borat voice)

I got there a little early to watch some of the early games and the play seemed a little better. Nothing great, but vast improvement from week 1. While talking to my teammates a couple of them said we want to go to Vegas. If this team went to founders cup they would get murdered, but the desire to be good is all I'm looking for. I told them I play in "competitive" kickball, and if we want to win I can get us there, i.e. we have to bunt.

First three innings; zero runs scored, zero bunts. I led off the fourth with a bunt, then went first to third on our second bunt of the game and then scored. All of a sudden everybody realized, if we bunt to get on, then kick them in we could score a lot of runs. For the next three innings I just stood by home and told people what to do. We scored 14 runs in those three innings. I was appointed cocaptain and will be making the roster from now on. Mcnugget get out here and we will dominate some shit.

On to the important stuff. The captain is 29, I'm 28. Next oldest person on the team is 24! I would card half our team if they tried to buy cigarettes much less booze. Not as many hot girls as the other people, but they're still at the bar. I kicked a homerun (unfortunately not a bunt) but I didn't get an hj during the celebration. Brick, are hjs only for bunted homeruns or any homeruns? The reffing was the reffing I remember from waka. Got into a 5 minute argument about a ball that was 5 feet foul that the ref called fair. He said the foul line was from the cone to third base. I said its from home to third. He said I was wrong. I said he was crazy and eventuallythe call was overturned. The best was when I went first to third though. After I got there he told me I had to go back to second. I looked at him like he was crazy and he told me you can only go one base at a time. I laughed, both teams told him he was wrong and I stayed on third.

New experiment I tried last night... playing in flip flops. Not recommended at all but I was still making more plays than the rest of the team.

Moving to Charlotte is off for now, but there are A LOT of jobs there for what I do so I'm looking at other opportunities all the time. We will definitely dominate some shit if I move there.

Also, I need pitching advice. I have been deemed the pitcher of this team as the rest of the team throws like girls. I throw it pretty hard, but with not a lot of spin. What can I do to increase the spin. I tried different grips, but didn't change that much. I was trying to channel my inner Corey Holland, but I need some help.

It's not just grips, try different release points, arm angles, and your wrist actions as you are releasing the ball. It's easy to talk about how to throw it harder or put more spin but most of us are just not physically gifted enough to do the things that JC, Correy, MGK, and Blake can do.

Yes- the HJ's usually only come from bunt home runs, b/c it's usually such an amazing feat that entire team is cheering you on as you round the bases and the errors pile up. After such jubilation they're all running down the base line to meet you at home plate and a large crowd forms. This is when the kickball slut pounces! (Ninja Kitties reference) and sneaks in a quick HJ in the middle of the pile and no one notices.

7 inning game yesterday, we had 5 double plays. I had 3, catcher had 1, and the first baseman had 1. You would think after 2, people would figure out if the balls in the air hold up a second. Guess not.

The game before ours someone went for the bunt homerun. It was just as you described it. Hard left at first, dodge a throw to get to second, third's essentially just sitting there for the taking, but he didn't pull the somersault move to score. Tagged out on the way home. It was a damn shame.

I forgot the disclaimer. States the do not participate: Connecticut, Montana, Utah, both Dakotas, New York and Alaska (HJ's are actually illegal, for obvious reasons)

A girl kicked a grandslam against my team in Florida. Is she entitled to a hj?

Really? There's a team in Hartford that owes me a HJ.

I forgot the disclaimer. States the do not participate: Connecticut, Montana, Utah, both Dakotas, New York and Alaska (HJ's are actually illegal, for obvious reasons)

A girl kicked a grandslam against my team in Florida. Is she entitled to a hj?

If applicable, yes.

Next time share with your team before the game that a bunt HR results in a HJ. That'll motivate them to start bunting and get them comfortable with stealing extra bases. You'll be the #1 team in North Carolina by flag day.

Tonight's update. I'm up in the last inning with 2 outs and we have a big lead. I tell everyone that HR bunts = HJ's. I even tell the catcher too.... So I go for it and only get a triple because by then there are 6 fielders standing between third and home with the ball.

Ill keep trying every week till it happens. Any success in Charlotte yet?

I haven't attempted it yet. Hopefully next Wednesday.

Almost another HJ...

MMS kicked into a triple play against pizza fusion last night. From the texts I received MMS has bases loaded 0 outs. Line drive kicked to chaz at third and no one moves. Chaz tags the runner on third base, tags third base, then throws the ball to second and gets that runner out (she started running to second then went back to first for some reason). Not an unassisted triple play though. If chaz spent more time on the forums and knew that unassisted triple play = hj there is no was he doesn't run with that ball to second base.

So the obvious conclusion is join kickball365 and get more hjs. If that's not the new tagline by Monday I've lost all faith in admins business skills...

I can't believe more people didn't know about the underground world of Kickball HJ's! The fact that Kickball is a coed sport is the main reason I come back year after year, and it's perks like these that make it worth it. This revelation has made me think... What are some league wide traditions/nuances that may be exclusive to your league.

:character-megaman: is on the boards, I guess he's just been to busy recording episodes of Headbanger T.V. to catch up.

There's a history of anal finger banging in fake wrestling for quality moves off the top and for not cupping your ass in the showers after the show. 'Shower Hammer' is a move coined by the WWE.

Update- Chaz coulda pulled this off yesterday, but threw the ball home without thinking.. Bases loaded no outs.. kick down third that was about to go foul.. MMS players all freeze on base thinking it was going foul.. Chaz threw it home, then DP threw it back to third and then we got the third out at 2nd base.. Chaz coulda tagged the runner on third, stepped on third, and then ran to second and tagged the base, but I guess he doesn't think the girls in the miss universe pageant are his type?
Any workout program that does not show results after 1 week must suck...
