Who's excited to compete in Harrisburg, Pa????

Postby Chuckle Jason » April 3rd, 2012, 9:23 pm

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to post a little something about our June 9th Circuit event. We are excited to host you all in a few months. Its never too early to sign up by the way. http://www.pakc.kickball365.com

We have some sweet fields that have been locked down since January. I hope to get some good pics up soon. The view of the Cumberland Valley from the fields is awesome. All games will be played in ONE spot so you can essentially see every game that is going on from any field you are playing at that day.

2nd Street downtown Harrisburg will be hopping all weekend. We are trying to get Barcus a police escort so he isn't mobbed by all the ladies (and gentleman) of Harrisburg. You will be within walking distance to the meet and greet and the after party. Fields are the only drive and trust me its worth it. And they are only 14.9 miles from the hotel. We are hoping to get some transportation to and from the fields for out of towners as well.

We've been crazy busy getting the Kickball 365 Harrisburg Circuit and Social leagues started. We have 16 teams total for our first season. We get underway next Thursday the 12th.

Stay tuned for more details. And please reply with any questions.

Thanks Jason

hooray! i'm looking forward to seeing how the circuit league goes this season. i've heard noise from vb, dc, and ny teams that pa is on their radar for this year so hopefully you get plenty of teams.

Yeah, from the feedback in FLL it sounded like 15 or so were already in for attending. Hopefully we get a ton. We have room for 16 kb fields locked down as of right now and there is plenty of other space if it gets bigger. Gotta love smaller cities. Tons of space to play kickball. And 2nd street or Restaurant Row as its called has all the bars packed on one street. Ideal for a great kickball party weekend.

Sounds like this is shaping up to be a top notch event! I just checked flights to see if it would be feasible to fly up there and ref, and as of right now prices are a little high.

Would any OSC/D.C. people be willing to pick up a straggler in Baltimore on Friday night? Flights seem to be the cheapest into there and is a reasonable driving distance. (just weighing my options)

Shouldn't be a problem. We all have to go past Baltimore to get there anyway. As long as you get in at a reasonable hour.

I would try and fly in after work, most likely arrive around 8/8:30. It would probably have to be someone who is driving up late as well.

That would probably be ideal. I know I'd be leaving after work and would wait for traffic to die down before heading out.

Brick, keep an eye on the flights in MDT (Harrisburg) they change alot and can be cheaper randomly. One of our guys found a cheaper flight out of Harrisburg after others booked BWI to Austin.

Brick, there's also a possibility that someone wouldn't leave until Saturday morning, in which case you could take the $6 marc train to DC and crash in the city for a night.

Yep, we're a different team than the Pounders. You've seen most of us in tourneys last year.

Fun fact, I live in VB now but grew up just north of Harrisburg (and even lived there a bit post college) so I'm stoked to play some kickball near my hometown.

Warrior Run to be exact, which is pry about 40 minutes north and real close to Lewisburg/Bucknell. I lived in Camp Hill for awhile after college too. Wish I would have known of the kickball scene back in those days.

Big ups to Jason and the Harrisburg team for killing it on this tournament ... and in getting K365 leagues off the ground in PA. Believe me when I say he has worked his tail off on all this stuff.

Selfishly, I can't wait to step off from the management/ref shelf I'll have been on at BOTW and LSKO and finally play again ...

Haha...they aren't too bad in June. We play in December at a local Harrisburg course and let me tell you that HURTS. HersheyPark is an idea for Sunday as well. Not sure what people are really up for since most will be driving back home. I might just put a list of local attractions together from the local Visitors Bureau and let you all explore. The Visitors Bureau is right across the street from the hotel actually. Hmmmm...

Thanks Sage. Seeing smiling faces makes it all worth it. League Pre-Season Party tonight at Arooga's Downtown. Handing out league goodies and T's. Was up till 2am folding T's and stuffing gear bags. No work tomorrow so should be interesting night.

Glad to see you'll be back at it in June. See you in Austin. Can't wait to get out of town.
