One of our former team members came across this and sent me a chat this morning and asked if we had anything to do with this.

After careful reading the I was gladly able to confirm that we in fact were the team that made this captain go overboard. A little background information. A few guys on the team we played were at a birthday party the previous week and were talking shit to us about how they were going to win. Apparently they were 2-0 and had spanked the teams played in the first few games and were feeling good about themselves. J22201 was at this party and relayed the message to us in our weekly e-mail chain and we decided ultimate domination was the only retaliation. They obviously didn't know we had just finished in 16th place at the SFKO (no small feat) and are ranked 8th in the current Circuit Cup Standings (almost surely to drop once more teams register). Joe was nice enough to bring some "Jungle Juice" for the team consisting mostly of Everclear and from that point on all inhibitions were pushed aside and no mercy was allowed.

Funny thing is this game only lasted 5 innings and should have been worse. What ensued after this butt whooping was one of the most amazing after game displays at our team sponsor Pub71 that led to another e-mail chain 64 replies deep of total awesomeness recapping the events of last night.

Got this e-mail on 2 separate team e-mail threads (both LIU and my Brooklyn Kickball team). Figured our friends on Flying V would know the culprit ... but the fact you actually induced the captain into firing off this hellacious crapstorm ... that is really, really hilarious.

Haha, I have a friend on the team who is going to send me the follow up email the captain sent. Funny thing is I didn't think we ran up the score. I'm interested to see how many players this guy has show for tomorrow nights game. I'll keep you guys informed, haha. Thankfully they won't have to play us again.

That email kind of reminds me of one I sent to my whole division from FC'09 while wasted coz people kept bothering me whining about shit. That may have been why WAKA took away the ability for the Prez to email the division.

Surprisingly enough they had a full team show up last night. They actually played the game after ours and I had a good laugh walking by their game as I was leaving. Luckily they didn't get beat 20-0 this week. I'm still waiting for my buddy to email me some of the email replies.

I didn't stay to watch them play but it seemed like quite a few showed up early... maybe to get some extra practice in?

I overheard the team we were playing talking about it and chimed while playing catcher to give them a little more insight. The didn't realize it was a team from this park, much less us. You could see they became a little deflated as they knew they probably had the same fate considering they had yet to win a game all season.

I can personally say that Flying V are a bunch of shitheads. When we played them last season, they showed up to the park drunk and belligerent to start, and then ran up the score like crazy, taunting and mocking us all the way. Not that adult kickball is anything to get worked up about, but it would be nice if they didn't act like dicks to everyone. I can see how someone could get pretty pissed over losing so badly to them if they acted like they usually do.

I'll admit that during that game I hated those guys and definitely made some comments but after hanging out with them at the bar they're all fun dudes. You've got to learn to leave it on the field or you'll never have any fun. In the end there's only 1 winner and a bunch of losers.

I want to know how bad we beat the team is this poster, haha. Sounds like he/she is still a little sore about it. Their comments are WAY OFF. After we beat the team 20-0, we invited 4 of them to sit and drink with us and finish off our cooler of hunch punch. Yes we drink and score a lot of runs, but you can ask the teams we play and they will all tell you that we don't mock players. That is such a joke. Most teams love hanging out with us after the games as we always know how to have a good time.

Well, those folks are always par for the course ... the ones who don't stay around, socialize, knock back a few, and realize that even the most competitive kickballers are, by and large, pretty nice folks (a neat hallmark of everyone who plays this sport) ...
