I also think The Pounders played the game of their life against us. Those guys catch so much flack and they didn't do a thing wrong in our game and handed us an ass kicking.

Thanks. I think it's pretty safe to say we didn't get you guys on your A game though.

Doesn't matter, you all played better and got the win.

We were definitely pumped up about it. Without a doubt, our biggest win yet.

I think DJV can sleep a little better after watching the replay. Live (w/o replay), both plays/calls seemed to not go in their favor which added to the emotions.

In person, Ricky looked to be out by a long shot but no one besides the ref was focusing on where the foot of Dierdre was on firstbase. Great game to watch.

Sidenote: NYSH went thru 3 DC/MD in single elims. They should be the number 1 overall seed in DC.

One thing I noticed right away from the video is how out of position the catcher is. If he is in position, Ricky should be out before he lands.

Lots of Sandusky jokes in the comments. This one was probably my favorite though. Legit made me laugh out loud:

I'll return the favor for servicing me, Adrock was easily the best catcher we played all day and with the slow turf he put on a show with the range he as...and was 4-4 against me :naughty:

That was the first tournament for our catcher, Casey, so he should only get better. He has speed to burn on offense too.

I wasn't there, but heard there were some ridiculous plays... that replay of rikki is crazy.. i asked a few people how the tournament went and my favorite quote was someone telling me that Trey got on base 2 times at most all day bunting.. and when the person telling me about it told him he sucked that day Trey responded with "I'm not a 2 kicker, I'm a 3 kicker"... that's up there with some of the best Trey excuses we've had

The throw was a bit off and to the left. Looks like the catcher had to get back and to his left just to recover the ball in time to throw it. I thought he made a great play given the circumstances.

definitely to the left, but seems that if he were closer to the base path, either in front of the runner or behind, he would've saved that split second and maybe could've tapped the ball at the runner.

I think you guys who weren't there are misunderstanding how the play went down because of the camera angle. The catcher ended up there because he had to field the ball on a throw that wasn't at the plate. The throw wasn't a straight throw to the plate, but instead was right on target to nail Ricky about 10 feet up the line from the plate. Ricky looked back and kind of stopped to avoid the ball and the hesitation took his momentum into the flip. The catcher made a great play just getting over to where the throw ended up, and the fact he made the play that close at the plate was pretty unbelievable.

The catcher should start at the plate and then recognize where the throw is going to be and then be there, no?

Agreed. I think all things leading up to the play added to its greatness.

Ricky was thrown out by a few steps IF Dierdre has her foot on the bag (questionable). Then the next play they have Ricky stranded in between 2nd and 3rd.
Everyone was screaming at Fatty to throw the ball since he had backup at 2nd.

Then the play of the Circuit happens. "That just happened." Ball game.

Except for the sac bunts, these stats cannot be that far off.

My guess is like 3-15 or 4-15 from the #2 hole ?

It was a very bad tournament for me. I was right around .500 for the day. Playing with no cleats on thick, tall grass isn't ideal.

The grass was not tall and thick at the plate. The field had a nice infield low cut.

HAHAHA.. I was 1-11 batting last... you were 2-11 batting 2nd... I think you hurt your team wayyyyyy worse then I did... HAHAHAHAAH I love it

Ha...the fact that you believe those stats are accurate say a lot about you.

Despite the fact that the infield was cut lower, nothing about that grass was "low" relative to other tounaments.
