Fellow kickballers -- I hope you're enjoying the windfall from the viral video taken by Phil of Ricky's amazing play in the epic NYSH-Deja VU PAKC quarterfinal. The Interwebs are abuzz with the play, and the K365 Tweetdeck rings constantly. We've gotten a lot of amazing buzz that will be great for the players, teams, Circuit, and kickball in general. The experience has been an epic win for all of us who have been ambassadors for kickball for a long time.

So ... how can you keep this momentum going?

5 easy tips:

(1) Post the video on your social media (FB/Twitter) if you haven't yet.

(2) Keep posting links to new websites that reference the video.

(3) Comment on the main Youtube video (220K+ views!) in constructive ways (e.g. encourage teams to play Circuit ball, let 'em know how much fun we really have, provide context, clarify rules, debunk the idea that this is a race issue).

(4) Social media bomb (e-mail/Facebook/Twitter) the major personalities and authors who have *and haven't* covered the story. (Yes, we've sent e-mails from K365's end to all the Around the Horn personalities involved.) That goes double for pro athletes who have already held or played in charity kickball tourneys (Greg Olsen, Cam Newton, Steve Smith, Channing Frye, to name a few).

Be professional. Thank the authors who have covered us for the press. Better yet, invite them to get a team together or visit the next Circuit event you're going to.

(5) Buy the Ricky Flies t-shirt (http:/www.rickyflies.com). Support the USME (a worthwhile charity). Start a conversation in person. Get people close to you personally to take an interest (I'll spare you the psych lit - but this dramatically increases compliance). Even if they don't want to go a competitive tourney, they probably know someone who will. (Hell, two fellow law professors at the conference I'm at already knew about the video.)

Tony Reali played in a celebrity soccer game in DC sometime in the last year. He might be open to playing in the DC tournament if asked. Just a suggestion.

Thank you Shane and everyone else.
This is SO exciting .
This could be potentially SO good for the sport right now.
Keep generating publicity and interest.
Captains - work on getting sponsors and building relations and interest.

I'll see all of you who are going to GKO (I'm currently at Logan in Boston shaking with excitement... or stress... not sure).
I am starting a post calling all videographers and editors to help me out (seeing as I totally suck at this except when getting EXTREMELY lucky).
