Represent your STATE at the State Games of America 2017

Grand Rapids, MI – This coming August Kickball365 will host the the State Games of America Open Kickball Championship (SGOA) for both a PRO and SOCIAL tournament. SGOA is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation. There are currently 33 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games. Kickball365 invites you to compete with the best kickballers from your state to compete with the best in the country!

The West Michigan Sports Commission, Experience Grand Rapids and the Meijer State Games of Michigan will host the State Games of America. The 2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids is expected to attract 12,000 competitors. Most recently, the largest State Games of America was held in Lincoln, NE with over 15,000 total participants.

Where is the event being held?
The kickball tournament itself will be held at the Art Van Sports Complex – Soccer Fields located at 3300 10 Mile Rd NE in Rockford, MI 49341. On Friday night kickballers, along with 8,000+ other athletes will participate in the Opening Ceremony Party and on Saturday night enjoy an epic After Party!

When is the event?
Both kickball tournaments will be held Saturday, August 5th, 2017 but the party’s will kick off on Friday August 4th. All kickballers are encouraged to travel to Grand Rapids in the mornings in order to participate in all the events planned by the State Games of America!

What is the REGISTRATION DEADLINE?
All Teams are required to register no later than July 1st. Only a TEAM CAPTAIN is required to register. Team registration payment is due within 24 hours of registering so please don’t delay! The State Games of America Open Kickball Championship (Co-Ed Only) will be open to all players aged 21 years and older.

Can I invite anyone from anywhere on my team? (ROSTER ELIGIBILITY)
No! The SGOA is all about representing YOUR STATE! Team rosters must have players only from the same state. Teams are limited to 15 players per team. NO exceptions. For those of you who are Circuit Players please note this event is NOT a Circuit Event and Player Eligibility and the Transfer Rules do not apply for this Event.

NCSG Out-of-State Athlete Policy
Due to athletes in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio not having a NCSG full or developing member organization and since these states are geographically connected to the State of Michigan, these athletes will be allowed to compete in the State Games of America similar to normal Meijer State Games of Michigan years. For Canadian Residents, please refer to the NCSG Canadian Athlete Policy.

Exceptions
The National Congress of State Games and the Event Host reserve the right to grant exceptions to participate in SGA 2017 Participation sports. List of “Medal” and “Participation” sports.

PRIZE POOL
PRO Division
There will be a Champions Cash Prize handed out to the winning team for the Pro Division. Teams who place 1st and 2nd will receive medals for each participating players and be awarded the State Games of America Open Kickball Championship Trophy. The Prize Pool will be set once registration closes. Prize Pool will be set at $50 per team entered in the Pro Division.

Social Division
There will be no Champions Cash Prize handed out for the Social Division. Teams who place 1st and 2nd will receive medals for each participating players and be awarded the State Games of America Open Kickball Championship Trophy.
