Rules

Adult Kickball is turning into recognized sport and its rules must be interpreted wherever the game is played. Kickball365 introduced a policy in 2010 of ongoing training for its Circuit Referees to ensure that open competitive tournament standards continue to improve and applied the same way everywhere.

Within The Circuit, we are introducing a few new items: an Open Rule Book that the Community can discuss, an annual Summit to discuss the Rule Book and suggest/vote changes for the next year, a required Rule Book Exam, and open forum to discuss rule changes.

The code of rules governing the playing of competitive adult kickball games by professional teams who comprise the Kickball365 Circuit Series is the Official Circuit Rule Book (v.2010).

How Do I Become a Professional Circuit Referee?

Official Referee Registration, which can be found here, allows anyone to register to become an official Circuit Referee. When Kickball365 hosts a Circuit Event in your area we will contact you for your availability. All Circuit Referees must complete the Circuit Certification Exam. A passing score on the Circuit Certification Exam is 80%. Referees will be given 48 hours to take the exam and to forward their answers to the CIRCUIT RULES COMMITTEE. Kickball365 provides this exam in order to maintain a healthy pool of quality referees.

How do I take the Official Exam to become certified?

In order to be considered for a professional Head Referee position, the ref must first pass the exam. You can take the exam at any time throughout the year. The Official Referee Rule Book Exam can be found here.

Do the rules ever change?

It depends. Each year in the Fall, Kickball365 holds its annual Summit, where referees are invited for evaluation of the rule book. All players and franchise owners are invited for feedback. Throughout the year players are asked to submit feedback or clarification proposals to the Circuit Rules Committee. You can do so by filling out a form here.

What is the current pay for Circuit Referees?

At each Circuit Event all Head Referee (HRs) and Line Referees (LRs) will be paid for each game they ref. Additionally, HRs and LRs typically are provided multiple perks as well (free event into social events).  More information will be available on this soon.
